Chinese Physics B (Chin. Phys. B), formerly titled Chinese Physics, is an international comprehensive academic journal, aiming to publish original papers and letters reflecting creative and innovative achievements in physics, as well as review papers about important accomplishments in frontier of physics. The journal is edited and published monthly in English by the Chinese Physical Society (CPS) and distributed in China and other countries. Chin. Phys. B has already been included in six world famous international index systems including SCI and INSPEC.
Chin. Phys. B accepts manuscripts that have been neither published in any form nor submitted to any other journal for publication at the same time, or they are written in any hard copy form, or fail to meet the requirements stated in the 鈥淚nstructions for Authors鈥縈anuscript should be written in doc or pdf format as an electronic version and include figures or photos (not colored) and tables (if any) that are arranged in appropriate place(s) in its text. And then the full manuscript should be sent to the editorial office of Chin. Phys. B through our electronic submission system at website http://cpb.iphy.ac.cn. Meanwhile, the author鈥檚 signed agreement of copyright transfer to CPS, whose form can be found and downloaded from the website of Chin. Phys. B, should be post-mailed, or faxed, or e-mailed to the editorial office of Chin. Phys. B. In addition, for Chinese authors, a certificate specifying no leakage of relevant secret is required.
Manuscripts should be written in concise and legible English without any mistake in grammar. Ordinary or standard scientific terms commonly accepted may be used, except those first invented by the author. Abbreviations and symbols used in the manuscripts should comply with the conventions approved by IUPAP or International Standards Organization. When an acronym first appears in the text, it should be enclosed in parentheses and its corresponding original fully-spelled words, the words that the acronym stands for, should be given in front of the left parenthesis. Thereafter, this acronym may be directly used as an ordinary word in the text. SI system should be used for units of measurement throughout the text. After the author has read the final proof of the manuscript or the manuscript has been typeset already, any requirement for revising the manuscript will not be accepted any more.
The items included in the manuscript should be arranged as follows: 1) full title of the manuscript; 2) author's name (spelled in Chinese phonetic alphabet followed by the corresponding Chinese characters, for Chinese authors); 3) author's affiliation (written in Chinese phonetic alphabet for the name of Chinese city where the author鈥檚 affiliation is located, for Chinese authors) and its postcode, and name of the country; 4) abstract (also in Chinese for Chinese authors), limited to about 200 words; 5) keywords, no more than 4 sets; 6) PACC numbers, four sets at most (authors may refer to those published by Physics Abstracts ); 7) text body; 8) acknowledgements; 9) the supporting organization(s) (with grant number(s)) written as a footnote on the first page marked with a star at the end of the title and at the beginning of the footnote as well; 10) references.
Formulas are preferred to be arranged into a line (e. g. exp (-1/( x2+y2))), and each should be numbered sequentially by a serial number in parentheses located on the right-hand side of the page. Letters denoting variables in formulas are normally printed in italics, but some function symbols such as sin, log, exp, etc, are printed in ordinary typeface.
Ordinal numbers of references cited in the text should be enclosed in square brackets and located on the upper-right corner of the cited author鈥檚 name or where available as a superscript. All references cited in the manuscript should be listed at the end of the manuscript under the section title of References, and numbered consecutively with square brackets enclosing the ordinal number, in the sequence occurring in the text. For journal of cited article, the following information is required: names of all authors of the cited article, publishing year, conventionally abbreviated title of journal, volume number and the first page number of the cited article, for example:
[1] Meyer F 1974 Phys. Rev. B 9 3622
For cited book, the following information is required: name(s) of (all) author(s) of the book, publishing year, full title of the book, edition number (omitted for the first edition), place and name of publishing house and cited page or chapter number, for example:
[2] Bloembergen N 1965 Nonlinear Optics (New York: Benjamin) p12
The author should reserve an identical original manuscript and its reference number. The manuscript may be sent to referees only when it meets the requirements mentioned above; otherwise, it will be returned to the author for modification. If the author is not informed that his manuscript is accepted four months after submitting his manuscript, he may treat it at will, but he should inform the editorial office of Chin. Phys. B about it. Once the manuscript is accepted to be published in this journal, the author should pay publishing charges according to the length of the published manuscript
