CJOL鈥檚 covers wide topics of marine science and technology fields
CJOL was established in 1982 under the auspices of the Chinese Society for Oceanology and Limnology, and Institute of Oceanology and Limnology, Academy of Sciences of China (CAS). Currently it is published bimonthly by Science Press, Beijing, China, and has been covered by SCI-E since 2008. The CJOL aims to disseminate original knowledge, promote interdisciplinary academic exchange, and stress practical applications of achievements. CJOL welcomes articles on most updated original research on all aspects of oceanology (or oceanography in the western sense) and limnology, biology, physics, geology, chemistry, hydrology, meteorology, geography, remote-sensing, environmental science, engineering, aquaculture and instrumentation, etc.
CJOL was integrated via the Internet and is now open-access for readers!
Recently, CJOL has just technically upgraded with the integration of online submission, reviewing and editing. Communications can be made among authors, reviewers, editors and readers through our database by Internet browsers. In addition, currently all the published papers in CJOL are open-access to the readers on the Internet.
CJOL Performance is Improving
CJOL is an international journal. Her international editorial board includes, aside from topnotch Chinese scientists, 16 foreign scientists with established reputation in international peer review. At present, beside the Chinese authors, CJOL also published some internationally authored or co-authored papers from countries such as the USA, UK, Germany, France, Russia, Japan, Canada, Italy, Norway, and South Korea etc. The international papers occupied about 20% of the total and it has been increasing.
Among the papers published so far, more than 90% of them are from the projects in or above provincial and ministerial levels, representing the most advanced and updated outcomes.
According to the series result of the CSCI survey conducted annually by Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China (ISTIC), CJOL has been in leading places in China English journals based on 11 indices. The table below listed out several key indices of CSCI. The CJOL performance has been growing in new millennium.
Database Inclusion: Currently CJOL has been included databases in some famous information institutions, such as SCI-E, CA, AJ, BA, CSA, OA, ASFA, CSCI, CNKI, CBA, Biosis, etc. and NISC (South Africa).
Awards: In recent 10 years, CJOL has enjoyed high reputation in Chinese scientific publication and won many awards, including the second-class prize of the best national periodicals in 1992 and 1997, the second-class prize of excellent academic journals by Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1992 and 1996, the second-class award of the best journals in 1992 by China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), and other honors such as the Shandong Provincial Top 10 Journals in 1998. Besides, CJOL ranked between No.1 and 5 among provincial quality scientific journals since 1996. Moreover, CJOL was enlisted in 鈥淭op 100 Academic Periodicals锟斤拷?in 2001 by CAST national survey among more then 1500 scientific journals in China.
Instructions to Authors Chinese Journal of Oceanology and Limnology (CJOL) was established in 1982 under the auspices of the Chinese Society for Oceanology and Limnology, and Institute of Oceanology and Limnology, Academy of Sciences of China (CAS). It is published quarterly by Science Press, Beijing, China. Manuscripts submitted are considered only on the condition that their contents are never been published elsewhere. Manuscripts submitted will be read critically by at least two referees. The CJOL owns the copyright of articles published in it. Once the paper is published, one copy of the journal and 15 reprints will be provided to the corresponding author free of charge, and the electronic version in Word is available to the authors.
