About the journal

The International Journal of Green Energy focuses on the forms and utilizations of energy that have no, minimal, or reduced impact on environment and society. Emphasis is placed on energy diversity, energy localization, energy security, and sustainable development. The International Journal of Green Energy provides a multidisciplinary and international forum for the rapid dissemination of the latest high-quality research results in the fields of energy research, management, and conservation, especially the advanced environmentally friendly energy technologies. It provides a medium for the free exchange and discussion of ideas and information, and a record of knowledge generated and technology know-how.

The journal publishes a wide range of original, peer-reviewed, qualified research papers and critical reviews of recent research that deal with the analytical, numerical, and experimental investigations of all aspects of energy and energy technologies, ranging from fundamentals to practical applications, from energy resources to energy consumption and the consequences of energy use.

The International Journal of Green Energy is abstracted and indexed in: BIOSIS Previews, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology Abstracts (CEABA), Chemical Abstracts Service, Compendex, CSA- Civil Engineering Abstracts, CSA - Sustainability Science Abstracts, CAB Abstracts, Current Contents-Engineering, Computing & Technology, Geobase, Physics Abstracts, Science Citation Index Expanded, and Scopus.

Instructions to Authors

Aims and Scope. The International Journal of Green Energy will be focused on the forms and utilizations of energy with no, minimal or reduced negative environmental and societal impact with an emphasis on the energy diversity, energy localization, energy security, and sustainable development. International Journal of Green Energy provides a multidisciplinary and international forum for the rapid dissemination of the latest and high-quality research results in the field of energy research, management and conservation, especially the advanced environmentally friendly energy technologies; provides a medium for the free exchange and discussion of ideas and information; and provides a record of knowledge generated and technology know-how. Therefore, the Journal is devoted to the advancement of the science and technology of energy and energy utilization, to reduction of the growing impact of energy use on the environment, and to closely allied matters through the dissemination of original research papers disclosing new technical knowledge and exploratory developments and applications based on new knowledge. The Journal publishes a wide range of original, peer-reviewed, qualified research papers and critical reviews of recent research that deal with the analytical, numerical, and experimental investigations of all aspects of energy and energy technologies, ranging from fundamentals to practical applications, from energy resources to energy consumption and the consequence of energy use.

Submission of Manuscripts. Authors are strongly encouraged to submit manuscripts via e-mail to x6li@mecheng1.uwaterloo.ca, preferably in MS Word format. If an author prefers to submit in hardcopy, however, two printed copies of the manuscript should be sent to the Editor-in-Chief, Xianguo Li, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Waterloo, 200 University Avenue West, Waterloo, Ontario N2L 3G1, Canada. Tel.: 519-888-4567, ext. 6843; Fax: 519-888-6197. Hardcopies must be accompanied by an electronic file on a disk or CD. The disk or CD should be prepared using MS Word or WordPerfect and should be clearly labeled with the authors' names, file name, and software program. Each manuscript must be accompanied by a statement that it has not been published elsewhere and that it has not been submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher. All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher. All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper. Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of not more than 100 words. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and reference to the text in the abstract. Abstract should include three to five key words that will facilitate indexing and data retrieval purposes.

References. Cite in the text by author and date (Smith, 1983). Prepare reference list in accordance with the Chicago Manual of Style. Examples:

Illustrations. Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines: 300 dpi or higher; sized to fit on journal page; EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only; and submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files.

Color Reproduction. Color illustrations will be considered for publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in color art reproduction. Color art can be purchased for online only conversion and reproduction or for print + online reproduction. Color reprints can only be ordered if print + online reproduction costs are paid. Rates for color art reproduction are:
