About the journal
The publishing of CARPATHIAN JOURNAL of EARTH and ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES has started in 2006. The regularity of this magazine is biannual. The magazine will publish scientific works, in international purposes, in different areas of research, such as : geology, geography, environmental sciences, the environmental  pollution and protection, environmental chemistry and physic, environmental biodegradation, climatic exchanges, fighting against natural disasters, protected areas, soil degradation, water quality, water supplies, sustainable development. By its thematic this magazine is different from others magazines. This magazine is the only one with this thematic, in the central eastern European area. Its role is to disseminate the scientific results of the researchers in this area. The redaction team is an international one, made up from different scientific personalities. For the publishing of each article, it is read by the redaction team, to verify if all the instructions are followed and to verify if the article is well placed, regarding the thematic. After that each article is seen by two scientific referents. If one of the referents, or both of them, has observations, the article is resend to the author for the appropriate modification.

        After this step, the article is send again to the scientific referents. If the article is rejected for publication, by at least one of the referents it will not be published.

        This magazine respects the international standards and it is publish in English.

        The abstracts of the papers can be seen on the internet, for free.


Instructions to Authors

The Instructions for the Authors

        The papers that are to be published must bring scientific contributions to the magazine. The papers also have to contain the results of some of your work. There can be published some synthesis, in extenso. It is strongly recommended an even number of pages, no longer than 6-14 pages. In some cases papers with more than 14 pages will be accepted by the editorial board if they contain the report of a wider research activity which can not appear separated in two papers.

        As we said before, the articles must contain scientific contributions and they must bring in news based on some references, of some real results published in the last five years (some ISI magazines or others internationals magazines, the volumes of the international conferences, CNCSIS recognized magazines, etc) and with the specification of the bibliography. The specification of your own contribution must be reported to the previous critique and to the obtained elements.

        Every single paper must be submitted with the following application:

Date Signature

        The papers that do not respect the publishing conditions and which are not integrated in the thematic of this magazine will be rejected from the start by the Committee of the Editorial Board. In order to obtain the access for publication, each article must obtain the consent of two of the magazine鈥檚 scientific referents.

        The authors are entirely responsible for the content of their papers.
        The contribution should be written in English and French. The authors are requested to submit the original and a copy of carefully checked typescript, with duplicates of all illustrations. A 3陆 in floppy disk (or CD) containing the full version of the document is also requested. The required format of the page is A4 with the following margins: top 4.6 cm, bottom 4.6 cm, left right 3,7 cm, in one column, with single spaced text written using the Times New roman 11 pt. font, in MS庐Word format.
        The TAB is at 1, 27 cm from the left edge.
        Before the title there must be four empty rows, 14 points high each. The title must be centered and written in capital letters, font Times New Roman, 14 points bold. After the title there must be two empty rows, 14 points high each.
        The authors鈥縩ames must be written centered, with capital letters, Times New Roman 12 points bold. Under that, there must appear the name of the working institution and the author鈥檚 address, Times New Roman, 11 points italic. After that there must be two empty rows, 12 points high each.

        The abstract contains between 50 and 100 words, or minimum 3000 signs, written at one row distance, Times New Roman 10 points, arranged on the entire text area, it is aligned on the horizontal (justify). The abstract must be written in English. It must begin with one Tab, after that the word abstract (bold) and then the title in English, also bold. After the abstract must appear two empty rows, 10 points high each.

        The list of keywords must contain between 5 and 10 words and must be written in Times New Roman 10 points, justify. The first row must begin with one Tab, after that the word keywords (bold) and after that all the keywords. After the list there must appear 3 empty rows, 10 points high each.

        The titles inside the article must be written with capital letters, Times New Roman, 11 points, beginning with one Tab and they must be numbered with Arabian numbers. After the title there must be an empty row, 11 points high. Before the chapters 2, 3 and the subchapters must be an empty row.
The subtitles must be written in Times New Roman 11 points bold and they must be numbered with two numbers, for example 2.5. After the subtitle must appear an empty row, 11 points high.

        If there are necessary sub-subtitles they must be written in the same way as the subtitles, in Times New Roman, but italic. The sub-subtitles must be numbered with 3 numbers, for example 2.5.3., and there should be no empty row after it.

        The proper text contains, one under another the paragraphs starting with one Tab, justify, written in one row distance, Times New Roman, 11 points. Between an ending paragraph and a next title there must be an empty row, 11 points high.

        The mathematics relations must appear centred on the page, Times New Roman 11 points and they must be numbered with Arabian numbers (3). Before and after the formula there must be an empty row, 8 points high.

        The figures must appear surrounded by text on the page where are the references about them. The figures must be sent also in an electronic format, a JPG. The figure鈥檚 explanations must be written with 10+ points Times New Roman, for example Fig. 1. The map of the polluted soils鈥?which have to appear under the figure. All the figures must be black and white and there can be used pictures with a very good contrast.

        The tables are included in the text and numbered with Arabian numbers. The datum from the table must be written in Times New Roman 10 points.

        Literature citations and figure references should not appear in the abstract.
The format of the citations should follow the common rules [e.g. Bucurescu (1976), (Radu & Dumitru, 1965), Dear et al., (1986)]. 鈥淚n press鈥縞itations should refer only to manuscripts that have been formally accepted and must include the name of publication. Informal communications should be cited by mode and date, such as 鈥縪ral communication, 1998)鈥縪r 鈥縲ritten communication, 1999)鈥縤nstead of 鈥縫ersonal communication)鈥?BR>The bibliography must appear at the end. After Tab is the word BIBLIOGRAPHY, which has to be written in Times New Roman 10 points, bold. The titles of the quoted works must appear at one row distance, justify, in Times New roman 10 points. The author鈥檚 names must be bold, the title with italic characters and the rest of the information with normal characters. For example:

        Bana艣, J., Nie膰, M. & Salamon, W., 1993. Bismuth tellurides from the Jarmuta Hill (Pieniny Mts.). Mineralogia Polonica, 24, 1-2, 33-40.

        On the copy that is to be sent to the Committee of the redaction board, the numbering of the pages will be made with a pencil, outside the text zone. In the doc folder the pages will not be numbered.
