About the journal
Aims and Scope
Iranian Journal of Public Health has been continuously published since 1971, as the only Journal in all health domains with wide distribution (including WHO in Geneva and Cairo) in two languages (English and Persian). From 2001 issue, the Journal is published only in English language. During the last 35 years more than 1000 scientific research papers, results of health activities, surveys and services, have been published in this Journal.
The main topics that the Journal would welcome are: Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Human Ecology, Occupational Health, Medical Parasitology and Mycology, Environmental Health and Engineering (air, water and solid wastes, radiation), Virology, Immunology, Bacteriology, Nutrition and Biochemistry, Entomology, ( Lishmaniosis, Malaria ), Human and Medical Genetics (Community Genetics, Population Genetics, Cytogenetics, Oncogenetics, Molecular Genetics and Ethics), Public Health Services ( Health Education, Health Service Management, Mother & Child Health).
We would be very delighted to receive your Original papers, Short communication, Case report and Letters to the Editor on the above mentioned research areas.

The "Iranian Journal of Public Health "is the official scientific quarterly publication of the School of Public Health & Iranian Public Health Association. It accepts Original Papers, Review Articles, Short Communications and Letters to the Editor in the fields of Public Health. All correspondences should be addressed to:

1. Submission: Papers submitted for publication should describe original work, not previously published elsewhere, totally or partly. Manuscripts must be submitted only in English and should be written according to sound grammar and proper terminology. Submission is only acceptable via Journal URL: http://ijph.ir
2. Manuscript must be accompanied by a covering letter to the Editor-in-Chief, including title and author(s) name and undertaking that it has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
3. The title page of the paper should only contain the title, name(s), degree(s) and addresses (Tel, Fax, and Email) of the author(s).
4. The manuscript should include: Title; No author(s) name; the Abstract; Introduction; Materials & Methods; Results; Discussion; Acknowledgement and References.
5. The abstract ( no more than 250 words) in structured format as Background, Methods, Results and Conclusion followed by 3 to 5 Keywords must be presented .
6. Tables in limited numbers should be submitted with the captions placed above. Do not submit tables as photograph. Place explanatory matters in footnotes, not in the heading.
7. Figures should be in limited numbers, with high quality art work and mounted on separate pages. The cap瑃ions should be placed below.
8. The same data should not be presented in tables, figures and text, simultaneously.
9. References in limited numbers and up-to-dated should be numbered consecutively as they occur in the text (number in parentheses). The references should observe the following style: Article: Jarvis WR, Komshian SV (1995). Epidemiology of nosocomial fungal infections. Clin Infect Dis, 20 (6): 1526-30. Chapter: Hillyer GV (1998). Immunodiagnosis of human and animal fasciolosis. In: Fasciolosis. Ed, JP Dalton. CABI Publishing, 1st ed. Oxon, Wallingford, UK, pp. 435- 48. Book: Charmaz K (1991). 10. Abbreviations and symbols use only standard abbre瑅iations. Avoid using them in the title and abstract. The full term for which an abbreviation stands should precede its first use in the text unless it is a standard unit of measurement.
11. Short communication when possible; follow the same structure as original papers.
12. The corresponding author will be supplied with 2 free issues.
13. Ethics: The relevant Ethics committee/institution review boards of the respective institutions must approve the study.
14. Informed consent of the patients participating in the study should be undertaken.
15. The sole responsibility for the whole contents of the paper (views and statements) remains only to the author(s).
16. Conflicts of interest: Submitting a manuscript must be accompanied with a statement from the authors disclosing all financial and personnel relationship that might bias their work, if any. Besides, they are requested to evident whether impending conflicts do or do not exist. A separate page should cover this proclamation and if there are further details, could be mentioned in covering letter. If an organization encompasses any financial interest in the outcome of the study, the authors are appealed to provide a declaration that have full access to all the data in the study and take complete responsibility for the integrity of the data and the accuracy of the data analysis.
17. Page charges: There are no charges for publication in this Journal.
18. Copyright: Accepted manuscripts become the permanent property of the Journal and may not be reproduced, in whole or in part, without the written permission of the Editor.
19. Peer review process: Iranian J Publ Health is a peer reviewed journal. All manuscripts will be acknowledged upon presenting to the Journal office, provided that all stated requirements are met. The manuscript is sent to two or more reviewers. The whole review process depends on receiving referees!@#$% comments and revising the manuscripts based on these comments to the author. On receipt of the revised article from the author, and after final approving by referees, the letter of acceptance is issued to the author. Authors have the right to communicate to the editor if they do not wish their manuscript to be reviewed by a particular reviewer because of potential conflicts of interest. The author can also suggest the name of possible competent reviewers but it is up to the editor to accept it. No article is rejected unless negative comments are received from at least two reviewers.
20. Disposal of material: Once published, all copies of the manuscript, correspondence and artwork will be held for 6 months before disposal.
