About the journal
Alternative Medicine Review, published since 1996 by Thorne Research, is indexed in Medline, Embase (the premier European medical database), Cinahl (a U.S. database for nurses and other allied health professionals), Index Medicus, Current Contents / Clinical Medicine, and Science Citation Index Expanded.Alternative Medicine Review publishes literature reviews, original research, editorial comment, monographs, and book reviews on subjects interesting to, and clinically valuable for our customers. The feedback we receive from readers is consistently positive and appreciative. We continue to receive unsolicited manuscripts from talented researchers and authors worldwide, which serve to sustain the excellent quality of information we strive to provide. This peer-reviewed publication is another service Thorne Research continues to make available to its customers at no charge.
Instructions to Authors

The editors of Alternative Medicine Review invite authors to submit contributions for publication. Articles most likely to be published are those which present scholarly material that surveys recent published literature within a specific area of inquiry. Manuscripts should generally contain between 4,000 and 10,000 words and will be accepted for publication with the understanding that they have not been published or submitted elsewhere, except with prior approval from the editors. Authors will be asked to assign their copyright to Alternative Medicine Review. Accepted manuscripts become the property of Thorne Research, Inc., and may not be reproduced in any form without written permission. Please submit a one-line biography including job title, commercial and/or educational affiliations, and correspondence address (including e-mail).
Manuscript Submission Electronic submissions are accepted on CD or via an attached e-mail file. Articles should be in Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format. Please do not use any special formatting such as Word or WordPerfect footnote function, special margins or tabs, boldface, underlining or control characters. Email submissions to kathih@thorne.com
Abstract Abstracts should contain a maximum of 250 words, and should be clear and concise. Conclusions presented in the abstract should be supported by the factual content of the article, and should reflect the conclusions presented in the article itself.
References References should be listed together at the end of the article, and should be numbered consecutively in the text by their order of appearance. In the text, either designate reference numbers as superscripts or by enclosing them in brackets, e.g., [1-4]. Please do not use your word processor's footnote function. Journal names should be abbreviated according to Index Medicus. List all authors if the number is four or less, otherwise give the first three names, followed by et al.

Tables Number and title each table consecutively in the order in which it appears in the text. Each column within the table should have a heading, and all abbreviations should be explained in the legend.
Figures Number and title each figure consecutively in the order in which it appears in the text. Figures may be submitted either on CD or as a glossy print, or emailed as a PDF or JPG file.
