About the journal
This Journal exists to publish results of research on fruit and other perennial crops, vegetables and ornamentals in commercial, amenity and/or recreational horticulture. Papers are welcomed from both temperate and tropical countries describing original investigations of interest to those engaged in scientific research and the practice of horticulture.
Instructions to Authors
AUTHORS SHOULD:-
?/FONT> Type text, Tables, Figure captions and References double-spaced throughout in 12-point size Times New Roman font.
?/FONT> Leave at least a 2.5 cm margin on both sides. Avoid hyphens or dashes at the end of a line, and do not divide a word.
?/FONT> Do not justify right-hand margin. Indent first line of each paragraph, except at the start of the SUMMARY and the main introductory text (use a drop capital here).
?/FONT> Cite each Figure and Table in the text, in numerical order. Tables are numbered I, II etc; Figures as 1, 2 etc. Do not abbreviate Figure to Fig. in the text.
?/FONT> Use standard SI abbreviations, s, min, h, d, but use week, month, year. Use ca., vs., SE, LSD, P, r?/I>, R?/I>, and x g for centrifugation. Leave a space between a value and its unit(s), 5.6 g, 16 m; but 45% and 18.6癈. Do not use ppm, ppb, lux, acres etc.
?/FONT> Spell out abbreviations and acronyms at first use in the text and abbreviate subsequently (e.g., . . . a scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used . . .)
?/FONT> Numbers: Spell out one to ten, unless a measurement (e.g. four flowers, 5 g, 14 plots). Always have a zero before a decimal point (0.5 not .5), and separate thousands with a comma (1,542 not 1 542).
?/FONT> Do not use /, except and/or and his/her and in Tables to save space. In text, use per (e.g. trees per plot.). Use negative indices for measured values: 5 g l -1 ha-1.
?/FONT> Ensure that each reference in the text is in the Reference section, and vice versa. Double check all spellings and dates.
?/FONT> Cite references in the text as Smith (1992) or (Smith, 1992) or, for two authors, Smith and Jones (1992) or (Smith and Jones, 1992). If more than two authors use Smith et al. (1992) or (Smith et al., 1992), but quote all authors in the Reference section. Use (in press) only if an article has been accepted, otherwise refer to as (pers. comm.) or (unpublished). If quoting several references, separate with a semi-colon unless by the same author(s) in same year (Smith and Jones, 1992a, b).
?/FONT> Assemble script in the order: (1) Title page, with footnote(s), if any, (2) Summary page, (3) Text, (4) References, (5) Tables, (6) Figure legends, (7) Figures. Do not staple pages.
