About the journal

Hybridoma publishes fully referred papers in the field of molecular immunology and experimental and clinical immunotherapy, including papers on the application of monoclonal antibodies for diagnostics and therapy. A primary venue for original publications on the varied aspects of immunology and immunological methodology, plus monoclonal antibodies and hybridoma lines.

Instructions to Authors

HYBRIDOMA: A JOURNAL OF MOLECULAR IMMUNOLOGY AND EXPERIMENTAL AND CLINICAL IMMUNOTHERAPY will publish both full and short communications. Full communications should be prepared in the format described below; short communications do not need compartmentalization and should be limited to a maximum of two tables or two figures or one of each. Contributions to the Journal are published at no charge to the author. Once a paper has been accepted for publication, it cannot be withdrawn. Authors will be allowed to indicate one reviewer who should be excluded from review of their manuscript. The Journal also includes MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES. This section provides prompt publication of current information on new hybrid cell lines, methodology, and other information arising from the use of monoclonal antibodies. Address manuscripts to Zenon Steplewski, Editor, 72 Canvas Hill Lane, Malvern, PA 19355-9998; telephone: (610) 827-7162, fax: (610) 827-3046; email: zsteplewski@msn.com . Please send an original plus two copies including artwork.

To help defray the cost of printing, the publisher requests that page charges of $60 per printed page be paid by all authors who have funds available from research grants or from their institutions. It should be noted that ability to pay page charges is not a prerequisite for publication in the Journal.

Manuscript Submission and Copyright Agreement Form

The Copyright Agreement form (available from
web site at http://www.liebertpub.com/media/content/transfer_of_copyright.pdf.) should be submitted once your paper has been accepted for publication.  Manuscripts cannot be published without this form. The corresponding author is responsible for obtaining signatures of coauthors. Authors not permitted to release copyright must still return the form signed under the statement of the reason for not releasing the copyright.  Upon acceptance of your paper, please fax the Copyright Agreement form to 914-740-2108.

Be sure these instructions are followed exactly.
Type manuscripts double-spaced on regular 81/2 X 11 typewriter paper (not erasable bond). Leave ample margins on the sides, top, and bottom of the page. Submit the original and two copies, including illustrations and tables. Disk submission is required, and the disk must match the hard copy exactly. Disks may be submitted in either PC or Macintosh formats, preferably in Microsoft Word or Word Perfect.

TABLES AND ILLUSTRATIONS. Type each table with its title on a separate sheet of paper. Use Arabic numerals to number tables. Remember, each table must stand alone, i.e., contain all necessary information in the caption, and the table itself must be understood independently of the text. Details of experimental conditions should be included in the table footnotes. Information that appears in the text should not be repeated in tables, and tables should not contain data that can be given in the text in one or two sentences.
For hard copy submission of figures, original glossy photographs for all illustrations must be supplied with the manuscript. (Photocopies cannot be accepted.) All illustrations should be numbered and labeled with the first author’s name on the back. The top of the illustration should be indicated. A legend should be supplied for each illustration, and all legends numbered consecutively and provided (double-spaced) on a separate page. Figures should be numbered in the order cited in the text. A complete set should be submitted with each copy of the manuscript. Images should not show the name of the manufacturer. Please keep in mind that the figures will be reduced, so please do not submit large figures/graphs that contain small type, as the text within the figure will not be readable after reduction.

Electronic submission of art is acceptable with the following caveats:

·                    Do not include any illustrations as part of your text file.

·                    Do not prepare any figures in Word as they are not workable.

·                    Line illustrations must be submitted at 1200 DPI.

·                    Halftones and color photos should be submitted at a minimum of 300 DPI.

·                    Adobe is the preferred software.  Avoid submitting PowerPoint files.

·                    Save art as either TIFF or EPS files.  Avoid submitting JPEG files.

·                    Color art must be saved as CYMK not RGB

·                    Provide a laser printout of all art to ensure accuracy

Reproduction of color illustrations will be made at the expense of the author(s).

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS. Collaborations, sources of research funds, and other acknowledgments should be listed in a separate section at the end of the text ahead of the REFERENCES section.

REFERENCES. All references must be cited in text. (1) Cite references within the text by an Arabic number within parentheses or brackets. Brackets may be used when parentheses are to be reserved for numbers for equations. (2) List references by numbers (1., 2., etc.) in the order in which they appear in the text. Type double spaced, although separated from each other by one line of space. (3) Use Chemical Abstracts format for references. For journal citations: (1) surname of author(s), initials, (2) paper title, (3) journal, (4) volume number, (5) first and last page of citation, and (6) year in parentheses. For book citations: (1) surname of author(s), initials, (2) title of book, (3) editor of book (if applicable), (4) edition of book (if applicable), (5) publisher, (6) city of publication, (7) year of publication (not in parentheses), and (8) first and last page reference (if applicable). For patents: (1) country of original registration, (2) patent number, (3) month, day, and year of issuance. Follow the style of these examples:

Book: Walsh JH: Gastrointestinal hormones. In: Physiology of the Gastrointestinal Tract, 2nd ed. Johnson L, Christensen J, Jackson M, Jacobson E, and Walsh JH (Eds.). Raven, New York, 1987, pp. 181-254.

Harlow E, and Lane D: Antibodies: A Laboratory Manual Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press, Cold Spring Harbor, NY, 1988.

When data from an unpublished source are given, supply complete information, e.g., researcher's name and location. If work is in press, give journal in which it is to be published or publisher.

PERMISSIONS. The author must obtain permission to reproduce figures, tables, and text from previously published material. Written permission must be obtained from the original copyright holder (generally the publisher, not the author or editor) of the journal or book concerned. An appropriate credit line should be included in the figure legend or table footnote, and full publication information should be included in the reference list. Written permission must be obtained from the author of any unpublished material cited from other laboratories, and should accompany the manuscript. All permission listings must be shown in manuscript-they cannot be entered on proofs.

REPRINTS. Reprints may be ordered by using the special reprint order form that will accompany the proofs. Reprints ordered after the issue is printed will be charged at a substantially higher rate.
