About the journal
|
Statement of purpose |
|
The Asian Journal of Control, an ACPA (Asian Control Professor Association) affiliated journal, is the first international journal originating from the Asian Pacific region and being recognized by the major body of control researchers in this region. The Asian Journal of Control publishes quarterly high-quality papers on original theoretical and experimental research and development in the areas of control, involving all facets of control theory and its application. Functionally, this journal not only provides a forum where control researchers and practitioners can exchange their knowledge and experiences in the control areas, but also serves as an educational means for students and any others whoever like to learn some topics in the same technical area. It is strongly believed this journal will become an important communication channel for the control community in the Asian Pacific region and the outside international community. |
| |
|
The scope of the journal is extensive. Topics include: the theory and design of control systems and components, encompassing robust and distributed control using geometric, optimal, stochastic and nonlinear methods, game theory and state estimation; adaptive control, including robotics, neural networks, learning, parameter estimation and system fault detection; additional topics including artificial intelligence, fuzzy and expert systems, hierarchical and man-machine systems, all parts of systems engineering which consider the reliability of components and systems; data processing; mechatronics; and computers for computer-aided design, manufacturing, and control of various industrial processes, space vehicles and aircraft, ships, traffic, biomedical systems, national economies, power systems, agriculture and natural resources. |
| |
|
Submitted articles may be Survey Papers (extensive reviews of established or emerging research topics or application areas), Papers (detailed discussion involving new research, applications or development), or Brief Papers (brief presentations of new technical concepts and developments). The journal also publishes the Special Issues on subjects of increasing importance. |
Instructions to Authors
Information for Authors
In the Asian Journal of Control, the Chinese Automatic Control Society publishes high-quality papers on the theory, design, and application of control systems. The journal is published quarterly. Three types of contributions are regularly considered:
- Survey PapersExtensive reviews of established or emerging research topics or application areas.
- PapersPresentations of significant research, development, or application of control concepts.
- Brief Paper--Brief presentations of new technical concepts and developments.
Submission of a manuscript signifies that it has been neither copyrighted, published, nor submitted or accepted for publication elsewhere. Submitted manuscripts must be typewritten in English. All submitted manuscripts should be as concise as possible. Brief papers are strictly limited to 14 double-spaced, typed pages (approximately four printed journal pages) and manuscripts that do not conform to this requirement will be returned to the author. Papers of length exceeding 40 double-spaced, typed pages are strongly discouraged. The Editor reserves the right to refuse to consider such papers.
Process for Submission of Manuscript
- On-line submission through journal website http://www.ajc.org.tw however will be strongly encouraged.
These will be subject to a review procedure, and a decision on whether or not to accept the paper will be made by members of the Editorial Board.
- Original illustrations should not be sent until requested, but authors should be ready to submit these immediately upon acceptance for publication.
- Authors of accepted full length Papers are requested to supply their biographies (100 words or less) and photographs. For style, see biographies in this issue.
- On the transmittal letter, give the authors preferred address for correspondence. Inform the Editor-in-Chief of any change of address.
- Authors of accepted manuscripts will be required to provide the final version of their manuscript on a computer disk in ASCII text file, along with two paper copies.
Copyright
It is the policy of the Chinese Automatic Control Society to own the copyright to the technical contributions it published. To comply with Chinese Automatic Control Society copyright policy, authors are required to sign a Copyright Transfer From and send it to an Editor-in-Chief after they received the acknowledgement letter. Paper acceptance is not possible without the form signed.
Style for Manuscript
- First page must contain: a)Title of paper, b) Author(s) and affiliation(s), c) Abstract (not exceeding 300 words), d) Keywords (not exceeding five), e) Complete mailing address, telephone number, and, if available, electronic mail (email) address and facsimile (fax) number of each author, f) Preferred address for correspondence and return of proofs, and g) Footnotes (if desired) containing acknowledgement of financial or other support.
- Provide an Introduction that includes a statement of the purpose and contribution of the paper.
- Reference should be numbered and appear in a separate bibliography at the end of the paper. Examples are given below.
[1] Etkin, B., Dynamics of Atmospheric Flight, John Wiley and Sons, New York, N.Y., pp. 166-188(1970). [2] Morris, J.G. and K.K. Howard, ═hermomechanical Treatments of Alloys,〃 J. Appl. Physics, Vol. 42, No. 1, pp.320-325(1971). [3] Pfaltz, J.L. and A. Rosenfeld, ═ITLE,〃 Proc. First Int. Joint Conf. Artif. Intell., Washington, D.C. , pp. 231-236(1969).
Style for Illustrations
Illustrations should be kept to a minimum. Figures and photos should be original proofs and not Xeroxes. Photos must be glossy prints with no screens. Laser prints are not acceptable in place of photos or where gray-scale graphics are involved. All line drawings and photos should be in black and white unless specifically requested. Letters should be large enough to be readily legible when the drawing is reduced to a one0column width as much as 4:1reduction from the original. Materials should be no larger than 22⊙28 cm (8 1/2⊙11〃). Do not incorporate electronic graphics into the paper. List captions on a separate sheet of paper, not on the illustrations.
Mandatory Overlength Page Charges
A mandatory page charge is imposed on all regular papers exceeding ten printed journal pages (about 32 double-space, typed pages) and brief papers exceeding 4 printed journal pages (about 14 double-space, typed pages) in length, including illustrations. The charge is US$100 per page for each page and is a prerequisite for publication. Details are provided at the time of acceptance; authors are, however, urged to keep this in mind when submitting and revising their papers.
Page Charges
After a manuscript has been accepted for publication, the authorˇs institution or company will be approached with a request to pay a charge of US$50 per page to cover part of the cost of publication. Payment of page charges for this journal, like journal of other professional societies, is not a necessary prerequisite for publication. The author will receive 50 free reprints and additional 50 reprints only if the page charge is honored. Detailed instructions will accompany the proofs.
