The Welding Journal has been published continually since 1922 - an unmatched 83-year link to all types of metal fabrication and construction. We were publishing when welding was in its infancy, and we provided first-hand reporting of every technological development since. Our author list reads like a Who’s Who in metal joining, and our articles are revered throughout the world for their technical depth and accuracy. Each month the WELDING JOURNAL delivers news of the welding and metal fabricating industry. Also featured are articles and supplements on related activities, such as testing and inspection, maintenance and repair, design, training, personal safety and brazing and soldering.

Instructions and Suggestions for Preparation of Papers
ORGANIZATION OF PAPERS
Generally, papers submitted for publication in the Welding Journal fall into two categories:
(1) applied technology — of practical or popular interest,
(2) research oriented — of highly technical or scientific value.
Usually, the former are printed in the front (Feature Section) of the Journal, the latter in the Welding Supplement toward the back
With this in mind, it is suggested that most authors can logically organize their material along the following lines, using suitable headings and subheadings to divide the paper.
