The Society, which congregates professors, investigators and students of Zootechnics, meets since 1972. The Annual Meeting of the SBZ is a scientific event in which the most recent advances in the area of Zootechnics are presented. The SBZ publishes, every two-month period, the Revista Brasileira de Zootecnia (RBZ), located in the Department of Zootechnics of the Universidade Federal de Vic,osa, in Vic,osa-Minas Gerais, and that is destined to the dissemination of original scientific works, unpublished, resulting from research linked to the areas of aquatic animals, study of forage, genetic improvements, systems of production, animal reproduction, nutrition of ruminantes and not ruminantes, bioclimatics and ethology. Its abbreviated title is R. Bras. Zootec., that should be utilized in bibliographies, footnotes, references and bibliographic strips. It is necessary to send the originals to the editorial board with a letter signed by the author responsible for the work, with the following given data: full name, complete institutional address and electronic address of the authors, as well as indication of the technical area that the article encompasses. The originals should be sent to: Revista Brasileira de Zootecnia ?DZO Universidade Federal de Vi鏾sa / Departamento de Zootecnia CEP 36571-000 - Vi鏾sa ?MG   Organization and presentation of the article The articles should not have more than 25 pages of size A4, with double space 2.0, source "Times New Roman", 12 cpi, with margins higher, lower, left and straight of 2.5; 2,5; 3,5; and 2.5 cm, respectively. It is necessary to initiate each paragraph at 1.0 cm from the left margin. The page numbers should be centralized in the lower margin of the page. The pages should present numbered lines. Works already published or offered to any other publication will not be accepted. We emphasize that this is not applied for expanded summaries. Only works written in Portuguese (official language of the Journal) will be accepted, but the Figures and Tables should be presented in bilingual form (Portuguese/English). The article should be divided into sections which headings, in bold, should presented in the following order: Summary, Abstract, Introduction, Material and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgements, and Bibliographic References. The 3rd level headings should be typed with lower case letters, unique paragraph, and italic. In the copies, it is necessary to omit the place in which the analyses and the experiment were carried out, in order to maintain the character confidential of the work during the opinion of the ad hoc revisers. The Figures and Tables should be presented in bilingual form (Portuguese and English); the translation into the English should be typed in smaller size and italic. They should be located immediately after their mention in the text. The edition of the Figures should be monochromatic. Use always the same type of letter and style for all the Figures. The bibliographic References should be standardized in accordance with the NBR 6023 (August/2000) of the ABNT; they must contain the names of all the authors and be organized in alphabetical order of authors.
