About the journal
OXIDATION COMMUNICATIONS is the only scientific journal which, in its new form, is devoted to the global oxy-reduction interactions proceeding in nature. OXIDATION COMMUNICATIONS acts as an international focus for modern fundamental and techno琹ogical research in this rapidly developing field of science of exclusive importance for life. The main topics and examples of specific areas of interest to the Journal are: a)gas-, liquid-, and solid-phase oxidation processes; b)the mechanism of action of inhibitors during the stabilisation of fuels, lubricating oils and greases, polymer materials and foodstuffs; c)oxidation reactions in the presence of homogeneous, heterogeneous, immobilised and enzymic catalytic systems; d)regulators of selective oxidation synthesis of valuable oxygen-containing compounds; e)biological and biochemical oxidation processes; f)photochemical oxy-reduction interactions; g)methods for prognosis and evaluation of performance terms or/and storage terms of the materials, as mentioned above in b); h)tribochemical interactions on metal and other surfaces in the presence of molecular oxygen or its activated species; i)methods for solar and chemical energy accumulation; j)studies on the nature of intermediates, generated in the course of oxidation; k)technological aspects of oxidation processes of special interest to the petrochemistry, pharmaceutics, food and agrochemical industries; 1)ecologically friendly oxidative processes for the atmosphere, soils and water. The term 'oxidation' is interpreted widely, including both organic and inorganic compounds as oxidising agents during the oxidation processes of organic and inorganic substrates. The interdisciplinary nature of the Journal ensures appeal to direct exchange of ideas and contributions among academic and industrial scientists. The Journal is publishing refereed authoritative review articles, papers covering original studies and also short communications, including preliminary results of a particular interest. Designed to: chemists, researchers in the field of physical chemistry, petrochemistry, organic synthesis, catalysis, molecular biology and biochemistry, tribochemistry, polymer and engineering chemistry. The Journal is indexed for ISI?products - Research Alert? Chemistry Citation Index?and Science Citation Index Expanded (SCISEARCH). The impact factor is 0.241 in the 'Chemistry' subject category of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) for 2004

Instructions to Authors
INSTRUCTION FOR AUTHORS
The language of the Journal is exclusively English. Contributions will be considered only if they have not been previously published or been submitted elsewhere. Authors are requested to submit manuscripts in duplicate, typewritten using double spacing and ca. 60 characters per line and 30 lines per page. Receipt of a contribution for consideration will be acknowledged immediately by the Editorial Office. The acknowledgement will indicate the paper reference number assigned to the contribution. Authors are particularly asked to quote this number on all subsequent correspondence.
ORGANISATION
The title page should include the title, authors and their affiliations, complete address of the author to whom correspondence should be sent and an Abstract. Abstract ?should not exceed 200 words and should give the subjects and conclusions of the article and all results of general interest. References and compound numbers should not be mentioned in the Abstract. A maximum of five keywords should follow the Abstract. Aims and Background ?should include brief and clear remarks outlining the specific purpose of the work and a short summary of the background material including numbered references. Experimental ?should be sufficiently detailed (but concise) to guarantee reproducibility. Results and Discussion ?should indicate the logic used for the interpretation of data without lengthy speculations. Authors submitting material on purely theoretical problems or on a new experimental technique might unite the sections Experimental, Results and Discussion into one section under the heading Discussion. Conclusions ?short summary of the main achievements of the research. References ?should be typed on separate sheets and numbered in the order as first cited in the text. They should be indicated by superscript Arabic numerals in the text. Abbreviations of journal titles should follow the style used in Chemical Abstracts Service Source Index, 1970 edition and supplement. Sequence and punctuation of references should be: 1. E. NIKI, M. KUDO, Y. KAMIYA: Reactions at t-Butoxy Radical with Cobalt Ions. Oxid. Commun., 1, 33 (1979). 2. M. B. NEIMAN, D. GAL: The Kinetic Isotope Method. Akademiai Kiado, Budapest, 1971. 3. J. A. HOWARD: In: Advances in Free Radical Chemistry. Vol. 4 (Ed. G. H. Williams). Lagos Press, London, 1972, 49?9. 4. C. H. BAMFORD, C. F. H. TIPPER (Eds): Comprehensive Chemical Kinetics. Vol. 16: Liquid-Phase Oxidation. Elsevier, Amsterdam朞xford朜ew York, 1980, p. 264. However, in the list of references to original papers the article title should be also included in accordance with the following example: 5. D. GAL: Modelling of Processes Proceeding in the Presence of Oxygen: from the Model to Reality. Oxid. Commun., 20, 1 (1997). In preparing the list of References attention must be drawn to the following points: a) Names of all authors of cited publications should be given. Use of 慹t al.?in the list of references is not acceptable; b) Only the initials of first and middle names should be given. Tables ?each bearing a brief title and typed on a separate sheet, should be numbered in Arabic numerals. The tables should be placed after the list of References. Figures and captions ?should be grouped together at the end of the manuscript with figures numbered consecutively and captions typed on a separate sheet. Figures (graphs) should be marked by pensil on the margin or at the back with the name of the first author and the beginning of the title. Particular attention is drawn to the use of SI Units, IUPAC nomenclature for compounds and standard methods of literature citation. Manuscripts (without figures) should not exceed 20 typewritten pages.
ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS
Manuscripts should be submitted in electronic form. Submission not in electronic form may face a delay in publication. The disc should accompany the manuscript. The version on disc must exactly match the version of the hardcopy. It is essential that the name and the version of the word-processing package, type of computer on which the text was prepared and format of the files are clearly indicated. All text (including the title page, abstract, keywords, all sections of the manuscript, figure captions, and references) and tabular material should be in one file, with the complete text first, followed by the tabular material. The manuscript must be prepared using MS Word 6.0 and above. Chemical equations must be supplied using equation editor. Tables must be created using table format feature. Graphics, i.e. figures, schemes, etc. should be in a separate file. The file name should be descriptive for the graphic. Structures and schemes may be supplied in ChemWindow format and other graphics as .TIF format at a resolution of 300 dpi. The authors submitting contributions for publication in Oxidation Communications by E-mail must obligatory send them as paper copy (in duplicate with disc) to the Editorial Office. Otherwise they will not be proceeded for publication.
SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS
Manuscripts should be sent to the following address: Prof. Dr. Slavi K. Ivanov SciBulCom Ltd., P. O. Box 249, 7 Nezabravka Str., 1113 Sofia, Bulgaria E-mail: scibulcom2@abv.bg All manuscripts are subject to critical review and the names of referees will not be disclosed to the authors. The manuscript sent back to the author for revision should be returned within 2 months in duplicate. Otherwise it will be considered withdrawn. Revised manuscripts are generally sent back to the original referees for comments, unless (in case of minor revisions) the editors accept them without seeking further opinions. Proofs should be corrected and returned as soon as possible because the paper will not be released for printing without the author抯 proof. The authors receive CD-ROM containing copy of the book.
