About the journal
Operative Techniques in Sports Medicine combines the authority of a textbook, the usefulness of a color atlas and the timeliness of a journal. Each issue focuses on a single clinical condition, offering several different management approaches. It's the easiest way for practitioners to stay informed of the latest surgical advancements and developments.

Welcome to the online submission and editorial system for Operative Techniques in Sports Medicine. Operative Techniques in Sports Medicine combines the authority of a textbook, the usefulness of a color atlas and the timeliness of a journal. Each issue focuses on a single clinical condition, offering several different management approaches. It's the easiest way for practitioners to stay informed of the latest surgical advancements and developments.

Then click the Author or Reviewer Login button, whichever is relevant to the work you wish to undertake. Have you previously registered on this site but now forgotten your password? Simply click Send Username/Password. Enter your first name, last name and email address and click "Send Username and Password". EES will then email you your username and password. Do you wish to change your username or password? Simply log in to EES and select "change details".

Which journal is most appropriate for my article?
Register as a new user
EES is an Internet-based journal tool that can be accessed from anywhere in the world and works on multiple platforms. You can access the journal EES site by navigating to the journal home page and clicking the Online Submission link.
The first time you access EES, you will need to register to obtain a username and password. Once registered, you will receive your log-in details by e-mail. E-mail is the primary form of communication that you will receive as an Author.

You will receive your access details (username and password) in the registration e-mail once you have registered in the system. Your username and password is confidential to you, therefore please file this carefully. However, you will always receive your unique username and password in each e-mail from EES regarding a manuscript.

Submit a manuscript
To submit a new manuscript, log in to the Author Main Menu and click Submit New Manuscript. Here you can submit all the data that comprises your manuscript - text files, images and descriptions. Required steps will be noted in red text on each page. The steps will vary by journal and by article type. For submission guidelines, please refer to the Guide for Authors, or contact the Journal Office with specific questions.

Track the progress of your submission
Once your manuscript has been submitted to the journal, you can track its progress by viewing your submission in the Submissions Being Processed section. Under the column Current Status, you can see when your manuscript progresses through the review process.
For any specific queries regarding the review process, please contact the journal office directly. To do this, you can click Send E-mail in the Action column of your manuscript. This will open an e-mail form which will be sent to the journal office.
Note: Viewing the status date of your submission may not be available to you, depending on the journal.

Revise your manuscript
If the Handling Editor decides that your submission should be revised before further consideration, you will be notified by e-mail. The submission will then be found in Submissions Needing Revision.

Submit an invited article An Editor may invite you to submit an article for a certain purpose, such as a special issue or conference summary. Editors will send you an invitation via e-mail.
Submit a commentary on another article
An Editor may invite you to submit a commentary on a manuscript that may or may not have been accepted for publication. If you are invited by e-mail to submit a commentary, the invitation will appear in the My New Invitations section of your main menu.
After you agree to an invitation to submit a commentary on a manuscript, you can access the invitation through the link My Accepted Invitations in your main menu.
