About the journal
Its main objective is the continuing education. This duty is fulfiled by reporting
- results of studies based on original examinations ?mainly on applied research,
- practical observations of veterinarians,
- reports (reviews) summarizing the international literature and/or Hungarian observations,
- more and more reports are published from the domain of small animal practice,
- reports reviewing and interpreting the published legal rules,
- an extra publicity is given to the veterinary and food hygienic problems,
- under the gleaning heads, fresh, interesting and brief abstracts, informations are given from the foreign scientific and professional journals.
Besides the duties of the continuing education, systematic information are give on the social life of veterinary profession of four thousand Hungarian veterinarians, as well as on their activities (on the country or national conferences, meetings etc.). Personal news information are published from the University, institutes, country veterinary stations, ministry and from the new Hungarian Veterinary Chamber. Books and new proceedings are reviewed.
Systematic informations are given in black-and-white and colour advertisement on the veterinary products (medicaments, vaccines, premixes) marketed in Hungary.
The journal is published in every months.
Each article has a comprehensive summary (a detailed abstract) in English. The articles are abstracted and indexed in: CABI (UK): Index Veterinarius and Veterinary Bulletin, as well as: Institute for Scientific Information (USA): Current Contents and FO:VMTM
