About the journal
Visualization is an interdisciplinary imaging science devoted to make the invisible visible by the techniques of experimental visualization and computer-aided visualization. It is applicable to various phenomena such as flow, heat, sound, electromagnetism, chemical kinetics and any of their combinations. The scope of the Journal is to develop and advance these techniques by exchanging new information, and to contribute to the promotion of science and technology. The journal consists of the latest papers by world renowned scientists covering above mentioned contributed fields, and will provide a wide range of information on engineering, physics, medical science, agriculture, oceanography, meteorology, and sports sciences for both researchers and technicians. The journal will be issued in full color in order to provide better understanding of complex phenomena.

Instructions to Authors
1. Organization of paper Regular papers should be written in English, organized to match the aim of the journal. The authors should use the template obtained from the website and the following should be included : Title, Name(s) of the Author(s), and Academic or Professional Affiliation(s), address, e-mail, Abstract (10 to 15 lines), Keywords (about 5 words), Introduction (about 30 lines), Main Text, Acknowledgments (if necessary), References, Author(s) Profile [about 100 words with a color photograph (3x4cm) of the author(s)] Figures and tables should be inserted at the appropriate places in the text. A regular paper should be 8 journal pages, including Figs, Tables & Author(s)' Profile (equivalent to approximately 6800 words). There will be no page fee for papers of 8 pages or less. If a paper unavoidably exceeds 8 pages, and with the approval of the Editorial Board, a page fee of US$300 per will be charged for each page over 8 pages. To make the most of the Journal抯 distinguishing feature, authors are strongly encouraged to use full color figures and photographs in their paper. References should appear in the text, in parentheses, by referring to the name of the author and year of publication, e.g. (Massey, 1991), (Warren and Smith, 1996) if the publication has two authors, and (Warren et al., 1997) if the publication has more than two authors. Ex. (1) The effect of these vortices was predicted already (Massey, 1991) and the experiment was performed (Warren and Smith, 1996). (2) This phenomenon was discovered by Smith (1998). References should be listed at the end of the paper in alphabetical order of the authors in the following style. (For a book) Massey, B.S., Mechanics of Fluids (Sixth edition), (1991), 123, Chapman & Hall, London. (For a journal) Warren, Y. and Smith, I., Visualization of Medical Images, Journal of Visualization, 7-1(1996), 37-58. (For a paper in a contributed volume) Yamanouchi, K. and Furukawa, K., Visualization using Tracer Method, Proceedings of the Fifth International Symposium on Visualization (Tokyo), (1996-5), 582-591, IOS Press and Ohmsha. (For an unpublished paper) Haridi, S., Numerical data visualization method, to appear in Journal of Visualization, 2000.
2. Submission The papers should be submitted in PDF file or Microsoft Word file over the website or to the Regional Editor by e-mail for the perusal of the papers. For the acceptance of the final manuscript, the author(s) should submit three file types to an exclusive URL (author(s) will be informed of the address): a Microsoft Word file using English fonts, a PDF file of the final paper to confirm the layout, and all necessary image files in the form of JPEG, EPS or BMP (about 300dpi). These image files should be submitted to maintain the high-quality full-color images. Positive films, negative films & duplicates cannot be accepted for manuscript submission.
3. Copyright By submitting a manuscript, the authors agree that the copyright for their article is transferred to The Visualization Society of Japan and Ohmsha, Ltd., if and when the article is accepted for publication. The copyright covers the exclusive rights to reproduce and distribute the article, including reprints, photographic reproductions, microform, or any other form of reproduction, as well as the right of translation. The author is responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions of the copyright holders to reproduce any copyrighted materials. Proper acknowledgment of any borrowed material must always be made. Materials in unpublished letters and manuscripts are also protected and must not be published unless permission has been obtained.
4. Referee System All papers will be reviewed by anonymous referees selected from among Editorial Board members and / or authorized outside experts. Authors may be asked to modify or revise their manuscripts to satisfy the aims and scope of the journal. Papers will be accepted for publication after all such revisions are properly made.
5. Proofreading Corresponding authors will receive page proofs for checking. Proofs should be checked and returned promptly.
