About the journal
Journal of Turbulence (JoT) is a digital forum for new theoretical, numerical and experimental concepts aimed at understanding, predicting and controlling fluid turbulence, either statistically or deterministically. The multimedia capabilities offered by this electronic Journal, including free colour images, video movies, combined with a new digital journal format provides a unique opportunity for disseminating detailed research aimed at deciphering the internal structure of turbulence and modelling it in its various fundamental, industrial, geophysical or astrophysical forms.
Turbulence is a physical phenomenon occurring in most fluids, and is a major research topic at the cutting edge of science and technology. Recent theoretical, numerical and experimental studies have advanced our understanding of turbulence. JoT will provide a central repository for communicating these studies of fundamental and applied aspects of turbulent flow. Examples include turbulence arising in aero- and hydrodynamics, acoustics, hydraulics, aeroelasticity, transitional flows, combustion, turbo-machinery, heat transfer, two-phase flows, MHD and fusion, environmental flows, internal geophysics, oceanography, meteorology, astrophysics, cryogenic and quantum fluids, and model systems.
Instructions to Authors
If you have not submitted to Journal of Turbulence before, please see the Journal scope for information on the type of articles accepted and for length limits of contributions.
A submission to Journal of Turbulence
- must be the original work of the author(s) and
- must not be published elsewhere or be under consideration for another publication in its submitted or a substantially similar form in any language
Publication must have been approved by all co-authors (if any) as well as by the responsible authorities at the institution(s) where the work was carried out.
Submitting articles electronically If you submit your manuscript electronically you do not need to send hard copies. For comprehensive information on how to prepare your files for electronic submission, please consult our Information for Authors
Web Use our online submissions form and upload your article's files, or enter your arXiv.org e-print number.
E-mail Send a single compressed file, as an attachment, to jot@iop.org stating electronic submission in the subject line.
FTP Send a single compressed file by anonymous FTP to ftp.iop.org.
Please log on with username anonymous and use your e-mail address as the password. Change to the /incoming directory. Change to the jot directory.
