INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS AND REFEREES
The Journal of Strain Analysis for Engineering Design provides a forum for work relating to the measurement and analysis of strain that is appropriate to engineering design and practice.
Submissions to the journal are assessed, online, by independent referees who make recommendations on the suitability of the articles for publication (our Guide for Referees provides information on the criteria for recommendation of publication). We are grateful for the support of all of our referees in helping authors to enhance and develop their papers.
We are committed to providing timely assessment of articles and authors are informed of the publication decision as soon as possible.
When an article is accepted for publication, authors are now offered the choice of open access for the article through our new, fee-based, service, Engineering Open Choice (this gives authors the option of having their published research made available free to view by anyone throughout the world). If making the published version of your article freely available is an important concern for you, or your funding agency, then Engineering Open Choice is the solution for you. Please take a look at the Engineering Open Choice guidelines (including an overview, step-by-step guide and FAQs) for information on how this service works.
We continue to support and develop the established, subscription-based, publishing model and do not impose any publishing fees on authors who choose to follow the traditional route to publication ?other than fees for non-essential colour reproduction. Whatever choice authors make ?the open access route with Engineering Open Choice or the established, subscription-based dissemination of articles ?they will continue to receive the first class service that we offer all authors.
If you have any queries, comments, or would like assistance with submitting your article, please contact the Managing Editor at jsa@pepublishing.com.
