About the journal
Founded in 1972, The Journal of International Medical Research has established itself as a leading journal for rapid publication of original medical, pre-clinical and clinical research.
Clinical and pre-clinical studies are welcomed as are reviews, case reports, preliminary communications and studies on new indications or new formulations of established products. Post-marketing surveillance, pharmacoeconomic and managed care studies are also invited.
Journal supplements for symposium proceedings, summaries of presentations or collections of medical, pre-clinical or clinical data on a specific topic are published and enquiries from potential sponsors of these are welcome.
All medical areas will be considered for publication including animal pharmacology, clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, toxicology, teratology and clinical trials.
Instructions to Authors
Scientific Review and Acceptance
Manuscripts submitted for publication are scientifically reviewed, the basic criterion for acceptance being the scientific quality of the work described. Papers are published on a page sponsorship basis, current rates being available on application to the publisher.
On-line publication is included at no extra cost and this enables publication of individual articles to occur with exceptional speed (see next section).
Rapid Publication
Approved papers that have sponsorship secured are normally published on-line within 6 weeks and in print within 12 weeks of acceptance. This exceptional publication speed, particularly on-line, means that articles are available and referenceable within weeks rather than months.
Publication Frequency
Publication is on-line on an ongoing basis and in print six times a year.
Indexed/Abstracted
The journal is widely indexed and abstracted by the world抯 abstracting services and data retrieval systems including Current Contents/Life Sciences, Index Medicus, Medline/EMBASE, British Medicine, Chemical Abstracts, Excerpta Medica, CABS and others.
Distribution
Printed copies of the journal are distributed worldwide to a regular circulation list comprising libraries and individuals in Universities, Medical Schools, Hospitals, Research Institutes, Industry and other organizations. Any supplement that are published are also distributed to this list.
