About the journal
《Journal of Computer Science and Technology》 (《JCST》), the only English Language Journal in computer fields in China, is an academic periodical under the auspices of Chinese Computer Federation and sponsored by the Institute of Computing Technology. 《JCST》 started publication in 1986 as a quarterly, but a bimonthly journal since 1995. It is widely recognized to be the leading academic periodical in China. The papers published in JCST are from all over the world and supported by different projects including those from National Natural Science Foundation of China, National “863” High-Tech Programme. 《JCST》 is covered in many authoritative indexing and abstracting systems, such as SCIE, Web of Science, Research Alert, CompuMath Citation Index, Engineering Index, Science Abstracts, Computing Review, INSPEC, CBST, Abstracts Magazine, Computer Abstracts, Mathematical Review, and Zentralblatt fur Mathematik. It is intended for specialists, professionals, teachers and senior students in higher educational institutions both in China and all over the world.
JCST is an international forum for the dissemination of research and application information in the area of computer science and technology. The papers for publication in JCST are selected through a peer review to ensure originality, timeliness, and relevance. The journal provides archival material, and strives to bring recent results to researchers and practitioners. While it emphasizes publication of preciously unpublished material, conference papers of exceptional merit that require wider exposure are, at the discretion of the editors, also published provided they meet the journal's peer review standard. JCST also seeks clearly written survey and review articles to promote improved understanding of the state-of-the-art.

Instructions to Authors
| 1. Manuscripts are accepted for review on the understanding that they have not been published, nor are presently submitted for publication in any other English journals. Enhanced versions of papers previously published in conference proceedings may be considered provided it is notified when the paper is submitted, especially if they are of particularly high quality or include substantially new material. Prior publication of an abstract, summary, or other abbreviated form of the material, shall not preclude publication in this journal when notice of such prior or concurrent publication is given at the time of submission. |
| 2. Submit four copies of your articles to Ms. Wan Xiaoxian, the Editorial Office, Journal of Computer Science and Technology, P.O. Box 2704, Beijing 100080, The People's Republic of China. Electronic submission is encouraged. For Chinese authors, a copy in Chinese should also be sent if the author wishes to have the English version checked. |
| 3. All parts of the manuscript should be typed double-spaced on only one side of the paper with at least one-inch margins all around. All elements of formulae should be type-written whenever possible. |
| 4. JCST publishes three types of papers: Regular Paper (Its length is not seriously limited.), Correspondence (about 10 typewritten pages), and Note (not more than 5 typewritten pages). For all manuscripts submitted to this journal , a list of 2--5 keywords and an abstract of 100--200 words are required.
5. Electronic submission is also encouraged. Please transfer your paper by attaching its .doc or .pdf or .ps file to: jcst@ict.ac.cn Before you do this please be sure that the file is not infected by viruses. |
| 6. All contributions are handled in the same fashion. Review management is under the direction of an area editor, who will solicit two reviews for each submission. Often, review process takes aronud half a year, and the publication process after acceptance can take an additional six months. However, JCST will make every effort to shorten the process.
7. Authors are invited to submit a final version of an accepted paper as TeX or LaTeX files on floppy disks, which should be accompanied by a hard copy of the revised paper; which should also contain a READ.ME file explaining any nonstandard conversions of macros, etc., that the author(s) has used. Authors should specify exactly what computer and word processor ( including version ) were used, and package your floppy disk carefully to avoid damage in shipping. Papers prepared with Windows Word or Wordperfect are also welcome. If none of these programs are available, send all text aspects of the manuscript in ASCII format. |
| 8. Please supply a technical biography of each author upon acceptance of the paper. |
9. The references should be listed at the end of the manuscript and numbered in the order they are referred to in the text. For journals the following information should appear: names ( including initials of the first names) of all authors, full title of the paper, and journal name, volume, pages and year of publication. For books the following should be listed: author(s), full title, edition, publisher, place of publication and year. Examples are as follows.
