The format of the journal is 21.1 cm width and 29.6 cm length, and all pages, including those containing tables, figures and schemes, are printed in the same orientation (lengthwise or portrait) in a two-column format.
Manuscripts should be submitted in triplicate directly to:

Japan Antibiotics Research Association
2-20-8 Kamiosaki, Shinagawa-ku,
Tokyo 141-0021, Japan
The following four types of papers are acceptable for publication:
Original Articles: Reports of high scientific quality and originality that are of interest to the wide and diverse readership of the Journal. Manuscripts should include an abstract or summary, and appropriate experimental details to support the conclusions. The normal length should be five printed pages or less and this should normally not include more than four tables and two illustrations.
Notes and Communications to the Editor: Notes are for short experimental reports of more limited scope than Original Articles. Communications to the Editor are for the preliminary reports of unusual urgency, significance and interest, whose subjects may be republished in expanded form. Experimental details are not required in Communications to the Editor, but a general outline of experimental methods should be included. The normal length should be two printed pages or less and this should normally not include more than two tables and one illustration.
Review Articles: Critical reviews on subjects related to antibiotics and other microbial products are invited. The length of a review article will depend on the subject. Authors willing to submit review articles should first contact the Managing Editor concerning the suitability of the topic under consideration.
For papers longer than the normal length, an excess page charge (亸20,000 or equivalent US dollars per printed page) will be assessed the authors. For extra usage of tables and illustrations, an excess charge (亸2,500 - 5,000 per piece, depending on size and complexity) will be assessed the authors.
