编辑部信息(Editorial Board)
About the journal The Journal of Advanced Transportation is a fully peer reviewed journal that publishes manuscripts in the field of transportation. Articles dealing with analysis, design, economics, engineering, operations, planning and technology of all transportation modes (surface, air, water) are considered for publication. The Journal also has a special but not exclusive interest in advanced urban rail transit systems.
Instructions to Authors
The Journal accepts the following types of articles:
- Original papers in the range of 1000-4000 words
- Technical Notes, short accounts of useful techniques, likely to be helpful to others but not meriting a fully documented paper, of 500-1000 words
- Letters to the Editors, either giving advance reports of important work or commenting on previously published papers, of no more than 1000 words.
Publication will be in English. Although the subject matter of papers is necessarily technical, authors should write in simple, jargon-free prose, avoiding passive voice and using personal pronouns where possible. |
The Journal will ordinarily accept previously unpublished papers only. The editors value originality of both concept and execution. Since Journal readers include both Engineers and Planners, authors should direct their work toward both these audiences. |
A short abstract of 150 words or fewer should precede the paper's introduction. |
Submission of two copies of both paper and illustrations will greatly expedite refereeing. One set of illustrations must be original. Authors should also keep copies of both paper and illustrations. Manuscripts should be double spaced (including references and block quotations) and typed on one side of the page only. The final revized and corrected manuscript must be submitted in a diskette in either WORD or Wordperfect 6.1.
The Journal Address is:
- Co-Editor-In-Chief
Journal of Advanced Transportation Department of Civil Engineering

NOTE: The Journal discards original manuscripts and figures one month after publication unless the author requests otherwise in writing. |
All illustrations and tables should accompany the typescript but should not be inserted in it. Authors should refer to all diagrams or photographs as "figures" in the text and should number them consecutively in the order in which they appear. Tables should be similarly numbered. Captions should appear on the sheet bearing the figure or table and should not be typed on separate sheets to avoid loss.
- Camera-ready, that is, boldly drawn charts and diagrams are the usual form of figures for the Journal.
- In the event that the authors submit photographs for illustrations, they must be glossy prints. Each should have lightly written on the back of the author's name, the figure number, and an arrow pointing to the top of the picture. Where lines or lettering are to appear on the photograph, two prints should be supplied, one appropriately marked and the other unmarked.
Authors should indicate references in the text by names of author and year of publication, e.g., [Ralston, 1983]. Complete references, in alphabetical order by author name, not chronological or other order, should appear at the end of the paper (multiple works by the same author are listed chronologically). Authors should use the following form, which includes the paper's title, journal title, and the first and last page number:
Tomazinis, Anthony R. 1977. A Federalist Approach to Regional Transportation Planning. High Speed Ground Transportation 11:54-75.
Highway Research Board. 1970. Strategies for the Evaluation of Alternative Transportation Plans. Natural Coop. Highway Research Program 96. Washington, D.C. |
Authors should avoid using footnotes, and should employ references instead. Where footnotes are unavoidable, however, they should be numbered consecutively. Special symbols should be used to reference footnotes. |
There is considerable variation in terminology and unit systems from country to country. Therefore authors should include a list of symbols they have used and units in which the corresponding quantities are measured. |
The Journal mails galley proofs to the first-named author for correction. However, at this stage any changes should be limited to correction of printer's typographical errors only. Other than these, alterations may be charged to the author. |
An order form for reprints will accompany galley proofs. |
