About the journal
The International Journal of Turbo & Jet-Engines aims to contribute to the advancement of the science and technology of air, land and marine applications of turbo and jet-engines. The journal presents professionals and academics in this broad multi-disciplinary field with original papers and reviews on research, development and applications.
Original papers should be submitted to one of the editors. Review papers will be invited by the editors. Instructions to authors will be published in the last issue of each volume and are available on request from the publishers or the editors.
Instructions to Authors
Contributions must be original and should not have been published elsewhere. Conference papers and preprints are not considered to be previous publications and hence are acceptable for the review process in our journal. The manuscript should be arranged in the following order: title and author, abstract, notation, text, acknowledgements, references, legends for illustrations. Papers must be submitted in English. Spelling should be consistent throughout the paper. Papers should be written as concisely as possible. The title should be brief. Metric system units are preferable. The editor reserves the right to return a manuscript to the author for retyping or any alteration. Authors should retain copies of their manuscript.
Suggestions for Typing
Manuscripts should be typewritten on one side and double spaced. Author's name is to be typed below the title. The institute or company affiliation should follow on the next line, with the author's rank or title given, at his discretion, in a footnote.
Abstract
Every paper must have a 50 to 150 word abstract, written as a single paragraph, and placed below the author's name. It should be a complete summary (not an introduction!), stating the nature of the investigation and its important conclusions.
Equations and Symbols
Equations should be numbered within parentheses at the right-end of the line. Greek letters and unusual symbols should be identified by a pencil note in the margin. To eliminate confusion of symbols and letters, they should be clearly differentiated, e.g., the letter l and the figure 1; the letter o or O and the figure 0; k and k; n and h; x and c; Also indicate subscripts, superscripts, and capitals whenever necessary. Complicated special symbols should be avoided. Use standard symbols and notations whenever possible.
Tables
Tables should be planned to fit the page width of the Journal. Insert a horizontal line at the top under the column headings, and a horizontal line at the bottom. Avoid vertical lines. Each table must have a number and a caption.
Figures
Line drawings must be clear and sharp. Use India ink on white drawing paper or tracing paper. Letters, dimensions and other details should be large enough to be legible after reduction. Halftone photographs should be on glossy contrast paper. Each illustration must have a number and a caption; the captions should be listed on a separate sheet. Illustrations should be identified in their margins by the author's name and the figure number. The place in which the figure is to appear should be indicated on the margin of the text.
Acknowledgements
Acknowledgements should be placed at the end of the text. They should include only significant contributions or help and financial support of research, not the routine aid of typists and technicians.
References
A complete and accurate list of references cited in the text and used by the author should be grouped at the end of the paper.
Computer Diskettes
Contributors are encouraged to submit their papers with an accompanying copy on diskette in order to speed processing of the manuscript and avoid typographical errors. We can accept 5.25 or 3.5 DOS-formatted double density diskettes for IBM and IBM-compatible in MS Word.
Proofs
Proof sheets should be returned to the editor promptly, otherwise no responsibility is assumed for the execution of the author's corrections. Authors making changes in proofs will be required to bear the costs thereof.
