About the journal INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF SPORT PSYCHOLOGY
published quarterly by Edizioni Luigi Pozzi, Roma, Italy

The International Journal of Sport Psychology publishes empirical and theoretical contributions in the human movement sciences from all over the world. Manuscripts related to psychology, sport pedagogy, exercise and sport performance are suited to the Journal's scope. IJSP's aims are to disseminate results of rigorous and relevant studies, to expose positions and commentaries regarding the development of theory and confirmation or contradiction of previous findings. IJSP entertains various methodologies encompassing coherence among epistemology, research questions, tools, statistical or clinical analyses and discussion or potential applications. Qualitative and quantitative analyses as well as case studies are of interest when appropriately used. IJSP is comprised of the following sections related to human movement sciences:
- Motor learning and control
- Cognition
- Health and exercise
- Social psychology
- Intervention / Clinical / counseling psychology
Instructions to Authors Manuscript guidelines
Manuscripts should be written in English, and conform to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (5th Edition, 2001). Manuscripts must be original and not submitted for publication to any other journal at the same time. Authors of manuscripts accepted for publication must transfer copyright to Edizioni Luigi Pozzi. Authors must use A4 format and add line numbers. Four types of manuscripts can be submitted.
- Position statements, theoretical re-interpretations and multi-experiment papers should not exceed 30 pages inclusive.
- Brief reports (empirically-based communications or commentaries) should not exceed 15 pages.
- Research notes. These submissions should not exceed 5 pages. They may present some initial findings, methodological issues or stimulating data from initial pilot work.
- Letters to the editors.
Authors should strive to make their contribution as precise and concise as possible.
Ethics
The IJSP Editorial Board requires that authors strictly follow ethical guidelines from their country or state. Submissions must comply with appropriate inoffensive language standards.
Checklist for submission
- Cover letter
- Original manuscript - First page [Title of article, Name of Author(s), affiliation, running head, e-mail address of lead author, grant and thanks]
Each section should be separated by a page break: - Abstract (150 words) - Body of the manuscript - References - Tables and figures - Captions
- Blind copy of the manuscript (delete first page, remove authors' information from the properties box of the electronic document)
