About the journal

 

The journal consolidates research activities in chemistry, physics and technology of photochemistry, photophysics, photobiology and solar energy utilization into a single and unique forum for discussing and sharing knowledge and experience between researchers, scientists and engineers interested in exploring the applications of these state-of-the-art topics and up-to-date research results and news.

Peer-reviewed Regular papers, Rapid Communications, Research Notes, and Technical Notes are published. The Journal publishes proceedings of conferences and symposia to focus attention on specific areas of current interest. Manuscripts of the proceedings are reviewed to ensure that papers published in Photoenergy are of the highest quality. Moreover, Invited Reviews are published which emphasize literature published in the recent years. Suggestions for Invited Review topics and authors are encouraged. The editorial policy of the Journal is to publish original papers of the highest scientific quality with rapid publication.

 


Instructions to Authors

INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

1) Articles for publication should be submitted in triplicate (original plus two photocopies) to the Managing Editor, Professor Sabry Abdel-Mottaleb, Photoenergy Center, Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University, Abbassia, Cairo, Egypt [e-mail addresses: ijp@photoenergy.org ]. Articles should be original and not under consideration for publication in any other journals/periodicals. 
 

PRESENTATION

2) Articles should be written in English. A summary (around 200 words) in French and/or German languages are acceptable. 

3) A short ABSTRACT (ca. 200 words) should appear as the first section of the article. 

4) The ABSTRACT should be followed by a short INTRODUCTION. 

5) Authors have full freedom in titling and arranging the sections following the INTRODUCTION. 

6) REFERENCES should come as the last section of the article. In the text, references to other papers or books should be cited using consecutive numbers in square brackets (e.g., [1, 2]) and they should be listed numerically in the last section. 
Examples (Just for illustration): 

[1] Balzani, V., Bolletta, F. and Scandola, F. (1991)  J. Am. Chem. Soc. 102 2152. 
[2] Schwedt, G. 1981, Fluorimetrische Analyse, Verlag Chemie, Weinheim. 
[3] Moore, D. E. 1996, Photostability of Drugs and Drug Formulations, H. H. T┆nnesen (Ed.), Talyor & Francis, London, 9. 

Authors should check that every reference in the text appears in the list of reference and vice versa. 

7) Scientific names should be typed in Italics. 

8) Tables should be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals. 

9) Illustrations should be limited to materials essential for the text.  All figures should be numbered consecutively and submitted as sharp high-quality prints. Photographs and electron micrographs should exhibit high contrast. Multicolor Photographs are acceptable, but would involve a reproduction charge. Figures that are to appear as a group should be mounted together. All figures and groups of figures should be trimmed at right angles and should be appropriate for a photographic reduction by at least 25%. No figure should exceed a width of 20 cm. and a height of 26 cm. Legends to figures should appear directly below the respective figures. 

10) All lines in the line drawings should be of uniform thickness. Alphabets and numeric characters used should be large enough to hold a reduction in size by at least 25%. 
 

PAGES CHARGES AND REPRINT CHARGES

There are no page charges. 
 

ELECTRONIC MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION

Authors are encouraged to submit their manuscripts in electronic format. Any TeX or LaTeX dialect is acceptable. Other electronic format like WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, PageMaker, etc. can be used. The guidelines given should be followed. An original hardcopy version of the manuscript and two photocopies should in any case accompany the disks. The version on the disk MUST EXACTALY MATCH the version in the hardcopy. Submissions should be made on a high-density 3.5'' disk, formatted for IBM PC compatibles or by e-mail to:  ijp@photoenergy.org

Illustrations should be submitted in digital format. Preferable formats are Encapsulated PostScript (. EPS) and/or Windows metafiles (.WMF). Bitmap format is also acceptable (e.g., PNG, TIF, GIF, etc.).
