About the journal
Hyperfine Interactions is an international journal devoted to research in the border regions of Solid-State Physics, Atomic Physics, Nuclear Physics and relevant Chemistry. The interactions of atoms, ions, electrons and nuclei with their environments in solids, liquids, gases, plasmas and directed beams comprise a broad area of physical science in themselves and also prove unique tools for studies of the behaviour of many physical, chemical and biological systems.
Instructions to Authors
Contributions should be sent to: G. Langouche Institut voor Kern- en Stralingsfysika Katholieke Universiteit Leuven Celestijnenlaan 200 D B-3001 Leuven Belgium
They should be accompanied by a covering letter, indicating, in the case of joint authorship, to whom further correspondence, proofs, etc., should be addressed.
After acceptance of your manuscript, Electronic submission in the form of a floppy disk is requested. The use of LaTeX with the Kluwer style file is encouraged, but other formats are also welcome. Please include paper copy with your diskette.
Please do not send files by email.
Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the following instructions:
- Manuscripts should be submitted in duplicate, clearly typed on one side of the paper only, with wide margins and double line spacing. Unclear digital type should be avoided, since it is difficult to read for the typesetter. Original figures, with copies of the same size as the manuscripts, should be included. Half- tones should be black and white only and rich in contrast. Great care should be taken of correct focussing to avoid blurred details.
- The paper must have a short abstract. It is also helpful to provide a short list of relevant keywords.
- All papers will be subject to peer refereeing.
- Proofs will be sent to the first-named Author or to the Corresponding Author.
- No page charge is made. 25 reprints of each article published in this journal will be supplied free of charge. Additional reprints can be ordered from the publisher at the normal prices of the journal.
- Footnotes (as few and as short as possible) should be typed at the bottom of the page on which they occur. Do not mix footnotes and references.
- References should be typed as follows:
Journal paper:

Book:
[2] R. van Lieshout, A.H. Wapstra, R.A. Ricci and R.K. Girgis, in: Alpha-, Beta- and Gamma-ray Spectroscopy, Vol. 1, ed. K. Siegbahn, North-Holland, Amsterdam, 1965, p. 501.
Conference proceedings:

Laboratory report or preprint:
[4] T.H. Bassel, R.M. Drisko and G.R. Satchler, Oak Ridge National Laboratory report ORNAL-3240 (1969) p. 54. No comments or remarks should be made in the references.
- Equations should be carefully typed or clearly handwritten, leaving adequate space for printer憇 annotations.
- Tables and figures should be numbered, have a self-contained caption, and their positions in the text must be clearly indicated. In the case of paper-only submission, figures should be on separate sheets. In the case of electronic submission, please supply your figures in Encapsulated PostScript form or in one of the standard LaTeX drawing packages.
- Use the metric system of units and the abbreviations recommended by the SUN Commission of the IUPAP, Physica 93 A (1978) 1-60. The correct abbreviations of some commonly abused units are: sr, fm, keV, Mb. Units must be correctly abbreviated in the figures.
