About the journal
The journal HOLZ ALS ROH-UND WERKSTOFF reports on results from research and development for wood and wood products and their biological, chemical, physical as well as mechanical and technological properties, processing and uses. Subjects range from roundwood to wood based products, composite materials and timber constructions, with related jointing techniques. Moreover, it deals with wood as a chemical raw material and source of energy as well as with inter-disciplinary aspects of life-cycle-assessment and international markets
HOLZ ALS ROH-UND WERKSTOFF aims at furthering international scientific communication and technology transfer from research into practice.

General remarks

Only original manuscripts will be accepted for publication that have not been published or are not being simultaneously submitted for publication elsewhere. With the acceptance of the manuscript for publication the author(s) agree(s) to the transfer of the copyright, for later publications or for copies, to the publishers.
Manuscripts are reviewed by members of the Editorial Board or other qualified referees.
Manuscripts
A General layout and typing
The manuscript must be complete and ready for printing. Corrections on galley proofs must be restricted to printer抯 errors only.
Manuscripts should be typed with double-line spacing and a wide margin. A total of 10-12 type-written pages including references and tables should not be exceeded. The number of figures should correspond to the length of the written text. Review articles solicited by the editor are an exception to the above rules concerning length of text and number of figures.
Manuscripts must be accompanied by the 揅opyright Transfer Statement?(the form is regularly published in this journal).
Text
The title heading should be followed by each author抯 name, initials for Christian names, affiliation and complete mailing address. The text should be preceded by a short English summary of 10-12 lines, followed by the German title heading and a German translation of the summary. The editorial office offers to help with translations.
The main text should be well structured, with major and minor headings for sections, following the system of decimal classifications.
References
In the text, literature should be cited according to the Harvard system (name, year), e.g.:擲impson (1992) Stated that厰, or:攨as described elsewhere (Morrell et al.1992)厰.
All references should be listed, alphabetically by first author at the end of the paper under the separate heading 揜eferences?
Tables
Each table should be on a separate sheet of paper, with its own number and complete heading.
Figures
Figures should be attached to the manuscript and numbered consecutively. They should be readily intelligible without reference to the text. Black-gloss paper. Coloured prints are possible at extra charge(485,-). Line drawings, computer graphics, etc. must conform to the journal抯 style and should be legible after reduction to column width (86 mm). Upon request special information on pictorial representation will be supplied by the editorial office.
Figure captions
Figure captions should be listed on a separate sheet of paper in both English and German. All symbols used must be explained in the caption or in the figure. The editorial office will assist with German translations.

Offprints
Twenty-five offprints of the published paper will be set to the communicating author free of charge. When you order additional offprints, you are entitled to receive in addition a pdf file of your article for your own personal use.
