About the journal
In view of the recent rapid advances in our understanding of process fundamentals at high temperatures and the resulting changes in the related technologies, there is a need for a publication devoted to providing complete coverage of the field. High Temperature Materials and Processes publishes articles on original research, short communications and reviews on high temperature applications and behavior of metal and alloys, intermetallic compounds, oxide and non-oxide ceramics, polymers, glasses and glassy metals and composite materials. It also covers designs with high temperature materials, processes for achieving high temperatures, processing of materials involving lasers, plasma and arc sources, materials and applications, thermochemistry, kinetics of reactions, processing of liquid metal and rapid solidification processes.
Instructions to Authors
1. Manuscripts for Corrosion Reviews, not previously published, should be authoritative and present a critical appraisal of the topic for review. Attempts to develop new insights or to promote research activity in an area are most welcome. The material presented should be of a high scientific standard.
2. The editor will solicit manuscripts in response to suggestions from the editorial board and scientists of high calibre. Authors may also make a direct approach by presenting an outline of the proposed review. Such outlines will receive the immediate attention of the editorial board and a decision reached as quickly as possible. All manuscripts solicited or otherwise will be subject to review and should be sent to the editor.
3. Manuscripts should be submitted in triplicate, typewritten (double-spaced) on good quality white bond paper, with adequate (3 cm) margins, along with an IBM PC diskette, preferably Word for Windows. a) Affiliation of the author(s) should be given on the title page under the author(s) name(s). b) A Table of Contents may precede each review. c) Illustrations: Black and white photographs should be submitted on glossy paper with strong contrast. Colour photographs are also acceptable. In line drawings, all characters should be at least 1 mm high. Photographs and drawings must be submitted in triplicate. d) Each figure should be referred to in the text and numbered accordingly in sequence. The manuscipt should indicate the points at which it would be most desirable to insert figures and diagrams, etc. All figures submitted should be identified, lightly, on the back, with the appropriate number, and with the name of the author(s). Clear legends should accompany each figure and/or diagram, and for tables. e) The manuscript should include an abstract of about 300-400 words and a short paragraph on conclusions. f) Equations, when included, should be serially numbered. All such equations may be typed or written by hand with particular attention paid to the formation of letters and characters so no ambiguity exists between the letter "I" and the number "1" or between the letter "O" and zero. This also applies to the main text. g) Manuscripts must be submitted in the English language.
4. Copyright responsibility: this is clearly the author's own responsibility. If any figure(s), illustration(s), table(s) or extended quotation(s), etc. are to be taken from material(s) previously published, the author(s) must secure reproduction permission from the copyright owner.
5. References should be indicated in the text by superscript numbers and listed at the end of the paper as follows: 1. U.R. Evans, The Corrosion and Oxidation of Metals (1st Edn), p129, Arnold, London, 1960. 2. B.W. Cherry and S.M. Price, Corros. Sci. 20, 1163 (1980). Abbreviations of journal titles should follow those in "World List of Scientific Periodicals"
6. Wherever possible SI units should be used.
7. Authors will receive 20 free copies of their review.
8. The reviews should be sent to: M. Schorr, c/o Freund Publishing House Ltd., P.O. Box 35010, Tel Aviv 61350, Israel
