E-mail: eb@elsevier.com

Alternatively, the manuscript can be submitted using the Elsevier electronic submission tool as described below under Electronic Submission.

There are no submission fees or page charges. Each manuscript should be accompanied by a letter from the corresponding author outlining the basic findings of the paper and their significance.

Electronic Submission. Manuscripts may be submitted using the Elsevier electronic submission tool, located on the Elsevier Author Gateway. To use this submission route, please go to the Web site and upload your article and its associated artwork. A PDF is generated and the reviewing process is carried out using that PDF. All correspondence between editor and author is performed by e-mail, and paper copies are not required at the original submission stage. To submit your paper online, please click here.

Submission as an e-mail attachment is also acceptable provided that all files are included in a single archive the size of which does not exceed 2 megabytes (eb@elsevier.com). Hard-copy printouts of the manuscript and art that exactly math the electronic file must then be supplied. The manuscript will be edited according to the style of the journal, and authors must read the proofs carefully. Complete instructions for electronic artwork submission can be found on the Author Gateway, accessible through the journal home page (http://www.elsevier.com/yebeh).

Manuscripts are accepted for review with the understanding that no substantial portion of the study has been published or is under consideration for publication elsewhere and that its submission for publication has been approved by all of the authors and by the institution where the work was carried out. Manuscripts that do not meet the general criteria or standards for publication in Epilepsy & Behavior will be immediately returned to the authors, without detailed review.

Authors submitting a manuscript do so on the understanding that if the manuscript is accepted for publication, copyright in the article, including the right to reproduce the article in all forms and media, shall be assigned exclusively to the Publisher. The Copyright Transfer Agreement should be signed by the appropriate person.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permissions to reprint previously published figures, tables, and other material.

Reviews. Epilepsy & Behavior reviews are solicited by the Editor-in-Chief.

Preparation of Manuscript. Manuscripts should be double-spaced throughout on one side of 8.5 x 11-inch or A4 white paper. Pages should be numbered consecutively and organized as follows:

The Title Page (p. 1) should contain the article title, authors' names and complete affiliations, footnotes to the title, and the address for manuscript correspondence (including e-mail address and telephone and fax numbers). Please note that proprietary names for drugs should not be used in the article title.

The Abstract (p. 2) must be a single paragraph that summarizes the main findings of the paper in less than 150 words. After the abstract a list of up to 10 keywords that will be useful for indexing or searching should be included.

The Introduction should be as concise as possible, without subheadings.

Methods should be sufficiently detailed to enable the study to be reproduced.

Results and Discussion should be separate and may be organized into subheadings.

Acknowledgments should be brief and should precede the references.

References should be cited in the text by numbers in brackets, in order of appearance and follow the Vancouver Style (http://www.library.uwa.edu.au/guides/citingsources/vancouver.html. Only articles that have been published or are in press should be included in the references. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of references. Unpublished results or personal communications should be cited as such in the text. Please note the following examples:

Figures should be in a finished form suitable for publication. Number figures consecutively with Arabic numerals, and indicate the top and the authors on the back of each figure. Lettering on drawings should be professional quality or generated by high-resolution computer graphics and must be large enough to withstand appropriate reduction for publication. One color figure will be reproduced free of charge at the discretion of the reviewers and the Editors-in-Chief. Additional color figures will be charged to the contributors. Mounted color figures must be submitted on paper or flexible board due to the nature of the reproduction process.

Color figures for exclusive use as cover illustrations may be submitted by authors who are also submitting a manuscript for consideration. These figures should relate to the manuscript being submitted as well as the larger scope and focus of Epilepsy & Behavior.

Figure legends should be submitted on a separate sheet of paper. Figure legends should be concise descriptions of the illustration. Detailed information pertaining to the figure should be included within text, with the appropriate reference to the figure number.

Tables should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals in order of appearance in the text. Type each table double-spaced on a separate page with a short descriptive title typed directly above and with essential.

Proofs will be sent to the corresponding author. To avoid delay in publication, only necessary changes should be made, and proofs should be returned promptly. Authors will be charged for alterations that exceed 10% of the total cost of composition.
