About the journal

Entomologia Generalis is an international journal for general and applied entomology.
It publishes papers on experimental, comparative and descriptive problems and studies in all fields of research on insects and other terrestrial arthropods. It aims to continually supply new information on the results of recent and current studies and promising theories in this science, relating simultaneously to various fields or closely connecting them.

Entomologia Generalis emphasizes the publication of original research papers (6-20 printed pages). Furthermore, reviews of entomological problems (6-20 printed pages) are invited, as are summaries of high standard research results. Furthermore, short communications are published about new findings, ideas, observations etc, as well as exchanges of views and methods (2-5 printed pages). Finally, preview abstracts are presented of work which is being completed, but not yet ready for publication in a more extensive form (Synopses of 1-3 printed pages).

Manuscript submission and acceptance
Manuscripts intended for publication in Entomologia Generalis should - complying with the author's mother
tongue - preferably be written in English or German. Foreign-language authors must prove that they have enlisted
the aid of a colleague whose mother tongue corresponds to the language used in the respective paper. Contributions
may not have been published elsewhere in identical or similar form or content. Range, style and general appearance
must be consistent with the standards maintained by this journal. Contributors are asked to prepare their papers
according to the detailed "Richtlinien für die Verfasser wissenschaftlicher Beiträge", published in Entomologica
Germanica 1(2): 195-208, Stuttgart 1975; and the "Instructions for Contributors" which usually appear in issue 4 of
every volume of Entomologia Generalis. Copies of either Guide as well as new and more detailed regulations for
computer processing can be obtained on request from the Editor-in-Chief.
Typescripts and clearly labelled illustrations in triplicate [in addition to files containing: (a) text and
tables, (b) graphs] should be submitted - according to the treated subject - to one of the Executive Editors, or -
according to the author's residence - to one of the Regional Editors. All items should (as far as possible) be
processed by WINDOWS-98 /WORD-2000. Tables must be set print-ready in vertical format; those extending a
one page area of type (126x190mm) will not be accepted. All correspondence concerning proofs, revisions etc.
should exclusively be directed to the Editor-in-Chief, but not to the Publishing House. Each incoming contribution
will be forwarded for review to at least two members of the Advisory Board of this journal or to other specialists
who represent the respective field dealt with in the paper. The acceptance of the referees' and editors' suggestions
concerning changes, improvements, additions, or omissions is a further pre-condition for approval. Editors and
publisher intend to publish the submitted Articles, Reports, and Notes within 6 months after consignment.
Submitted material conforming to the given standards and requiring little editing and no further revision has a
better chance of appearing quickly. Synopses can be published more speedily; they will usually be considered for
the issue just in preparation at the time of receipt with the Editor-in-Chief.
Fifty reprints of each publication of every item will be supplied free of charge. Additional reprints can be
ordered on a reprint order form which is enclosed to the proofs. There is no page charge for contribution of the
above mentioned extensions. Colour prints can be accepted if necessary, but will be charged according to size.
Publication Schedule and Subscription Information
