About the journal The Electrochemical Society of Japan publishes original articles and notes by members of the Society active in the disciplines of electrochemistry and industrial physical chemistry, and in related industrial fields, along with reviews, commentaries, research materials, statistics and discussions aimed at the dissemination of new information and at continuing re-education. "Electrochemistry" has, over the years, achieved a respected position as a scholarly journal.
Instructions to Authors
1 General Scope and Types of Papers |

- "Electrochemistry" is devoted to the publication of research papers in the fields of electrochemistry and applied physical chemistry. The following types of papers in English (or Japanese) may be submitted.
- Article: Full length papers containing original results including significant conclusions or facts.
- Technical report: Technological reports containing new information, valuable data and methods directly related to industrial technology.
- Note: Short notes containing new facts, significant data and methods, if fragmentary, not exceeding three pages in the printed form.
- Communication: Communications containing new facts, valuable data and methods, and requiring prompt publication, not exceeding three pages in the printed form.
- Comprehensive paper: Comprehensive papers that draw conclusions from the treatment of existing data, include significant new data, or make new experimental results or theoretical views of broad interest.
- Review: Papers presenting a general survey of an outstanding subject in Electrochemistry.
- Only original contributions will be considered except for Comprehensive Papers and Reviews. However, Technical Papers or Technological Reports, which contain a significant improvement over the results already published as Communications in this journal or elsewhere, will be considered.

2 Submission and Refereeing of Manuscripts |

- Authors should prepare their manuscripts in accordance with both these regulations and the "Instructions for Authors", otherwise the manuscripts will not be accepted.
- Three complete sets (one original and two copies) of the manuscript including tables, figures and/or pictures should be addressed to:
Editor-in-Chief, Electrochemistry The Electrochemical Society of Japan 4-8-30, Kudan-minami, Chiyoda-ku Tokyo 102-0074, Japan

- The manuscript may also be submitted via e-mail if the complete set of the manuscript including tables, figures and/or pictures is presented as a PDF file. No two-byte characters should be used in papers in English. The mailing address is: edit@electrochem.jp
- The date received is the day on which the editor receives the manuscripts.
- The submitted manuscripts that are accepted for publication will not be returned to the author; rejected manuscripts will be returned.
- The decision to accept a manuscript for publication will be made by the editorial committee.
- The editors may ask that a manuscript be revised. If the revised paper is not submitted within two months, the manuscript may be regarded as having been withdrawn.
- If the submitted manuscript is accepted in accordance with the "Instructions for Authors", the author should send the final accepted version of the manuscript and the floppy disk to the editor-in-chief. The contents of the floppy disk must correspond exactly to the hard copy version of the paper.

3 Proofs |
|
| |
The author will receive the proofs; which he or she is requested to correct and return. No revision, insertion, or deletion of words other than printed mistakes will be accepted. The corrected proofs must be returned within 48 hours by the author by express mail. |

4 Corrections |
|
| |
If the editorial committee accepts the correction, the corrections may be published. A publishing fee will be required in accordance with the regulations. |

5 Fees and Reprints |
|
| |
If the submitted manuscript is accepted, the author should pay the fee listed in the Page Charge Table. A reduced fee is applied to individual members, student members and honorary members of The Electrochemical Society of Japan. A hundred reprints are provided free of charge. Additional reprints beyond 100 reprints will require a further fee in accordance with the regulations. |
