The views expressed in this journal are exclusively those of the Japanese authors and editors. The Japanese authors are generally consulted regarding the translation of their papers, but are not responsible for the published English versions. ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING IN JAPAN consists of translations of papers from Denki Gakkai Ronbunshi, the Transactions of the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan, which is published in four monthly sections (parts A, B, C, and D, ISSN numbers 0385-4205, 0385-4213, 0385-4221, and 0913-6339, respectively), comprising 48 issues per year.
