Instructions to Authors
SCOPE OF THE JOURNAL
Ceramics-Silikaty accepts manuscripts dealing with chemistry and physics of ceramics, glass, and other modern inorganic and hybrid materials. Manuscripts must bring original results of scientific value regarding the materials synthesis, analysis, characterization, study of physical and chemical properties, application, or practically motivated modeling of these aspects. Reports with purely technological impact and/or with a lack of more general value or experimental substantiation will not be accepted.
MANUSCRIPT FORM
The papers are published in English. Translation of manuscripts submitted in the Czech or Slovak languages can be arranged by the editors. To facilitate the translating, the authors are requested to write in the manuscript those special English terms, which, if inaccurately translated, could lead to a change of the original meaning of the text.
Abstract must contain most important and new discoveries, observations or ideas. It is a condensation of the essential results of the paper and not a mere list of the subjects covered in the text. Abstract must clearly relate the topic, methods used, and especially original results and conclusions. Do not repeat information given in the title or refer to the literature in the abstract. Write your abstract in such a manner that it can be directly used by world abstract journals and other information-retrieval systems, where you would not expect to find a poorly written, superficial contribution. Abstract should not exceed 250 words and it is not sectioned into paragraphs.
Keywords: Authors should propose 3 to 5 key words suitable for literature databases.
Figures should be attached in duplicate at the end of the manuscript, each on a separate sheet. Additionally, electronic versions are required. Preferable formats for graphs are: *.wmf (windows metafiles), files in Excel, Origin, Grapher and Adobe Illustrator, version 7 or 8. Photographs have to be perfectly sharp and with adequate contrast on white glossy paper. Please also include the electronic version in TIFF format (possibly with LZW compression) scanned at least at 300 DPI. If necessary, compress data as *.zip or *.rar archives.
References should be marked in the text with the numbers in square brackets, e.g. [1] or McAdams [2]. Please use the following examples to format references.

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION
Please send two hardcopies of the manuscript, if possible together with its electronic version, preferentially as e-mail attached files. Suitable are native *.doc files of MSWord, or *.rtf. The hardcopy of the final (revised) version of manuscript should be accompanied by its electronic version including figures either attached to e-mail or on a 3.5" DOS-formatted diskette. In the second case, the e-mail address of the corresponding author is to be included.
