It is a world leader in telecommunications research, design, development and systems integration. Its main base is at Adastral Park near Ipswich, Suffolk and it has an outstanding reputation for pioneering work in many fields including optical communications materials, advanced networks, visual communications, network management and OSS, software engineering, speech processing, information technology, human factors and standards. The BT Technology Journal publishes papers by researchers and senior engineers working at the sharp end of these areas.
