In taxonomic papers the family name should be included in the title. Avoid authors of plant names in headings as much as possible. / Each paper should be provided with a summary not exceeding 250 words. Provide, on a separate line, up to 7 key words, preceded by 慘ey words:?BR>/ Double-spaced manuscript throughout (one-sided), including literature citations, tables, and figure captions. / Leave at least 2.5 cm margin on all sides of the typed pages. / Do not use proportional spacing or justified margins. / Type major headings on a separate line and in capitals. For fractions of numbers the decimal system should be used. / Keys. For keys the bracketed type is compulsory. / In taxonomic papers abbreviations of authors preferably as in 慉uthors of Plant Names?(APN), edited by R.K. Brummitt & C.E. Powell, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. / Index. At the end of large papers an index of scientific names should be given, preferably referring to the taxon numbers. / Quoting of collections in full (including locality data, dates, etc.) is only permitted for type specimens and for the (usually few) specimens of new taxa. All other specimens should be given in an Identification List. / The order of the parts of specimen citations (type specimens, specimens of new taxa) should be: collector + number (herbaria), locality (country, province, etc.), date. / Always check the latest issues of Blumea for guidance. Structure and development of the bark in dicotyledons. In: M.H. Zimmermann (ed.), The formation of wood in forest trees: 37--50. Academic Press, New York. For journals, e.g.: Bailey, I.W. & C.G. Nast. 1945. Morphology and relationships of Trochodendron and Tetracentron, 1. Stem, root, and leaf. J. Arnold Arbor. 26: 143--154. / Do not use italics or bold in the references. / Write out the name(s) of author(s), i.e., do not replace author names with a long dash, when the author(s) is (are) the same as in the immediate preceding citation(s). Note: Use only a period, without a space, between the initial(s) of an author抯 name. Leave one space between the volume number with colon and page numbers in a journal article. Use double hyphens between page numbers, e.g., J. Arnold Arbor. 10: 72--81. / Sorting of names of persons in references and specimens lists follows international standards. For instance, Dutch names with prefixes (Van, De, Van de, etc.) should be sorted on the first letter of the prefix: Van Steenis will appear under the letter V; De Vogel under the letter D, etc. ILLUSTRATIONS / Illustrations should be either black-and-white photographs printed on glossy paper or text figures executed in India ink (preferably not on transparent or tracing paper), or photographic reproductions thereof. / Colour photographs. For safety reasons, original illustrations are only required after acceptance of the manuscript. If the format of the manuscript does not generally conform to the instructions outlined above, it may be returned to the authors and not sent out for review. / After acceptance of the manuscript authors are requested to submit a diskette (3.5 inch HD) with their typescript.
