AITE was founded in 1953 by a famous Polish serologist, microbiologist and immunologist – professor Ludwik Hirszfeld. It is a multidisciplinary scientific journal, publishing in English full original papers, short communications and reviews, which deal with basic and clinical immunology, experimental therapy, immunogenetics, transplantation, microbiology, immunochemistry.

Instructions to Authors
Archivum Immunologiae et Therapiae Experimentalis (AITE) publishes papers containing original results which have not been published elsewhere (except in the form of an abstract or preliminary note that should be indicated as a footnote in the acknowledgment) and which make a sufficient contribution to immunology or experimental therapy.
Archivum publishes full papers, short communications, reviews and invited editorial reviews. Full papers not exceeding 16 typed pages, should be prepared in the form described below. Short communications should not exceed 10 typed pages, they may not contain section headings; both the text and the number of Figures and Tables should be minimized. Reference citations should be the same as in full papers. Reviews should contain a title page, an abstract, the basic text up to 14 typed pages, acknowledgments (if any) and references.
The manuscripts written only in a good grammar English will be accepted. The author of a published paper will get 20 charge-free reprints. The authors should submit to the Editorial Office 3 copies of concisely written double-spaced manuscript, including tables, figures, references. The authors are also requested to submit a computer disk (3.5") with the final version of the manuscript. The following criteria should be fulfilled: software Word 6.0, PC IBM-compatible, separate text file plus table and illustration files. The Authors are expected to cover a cost of publication of their articles (50.00 PLN/printed page). Under exceptional circumstances the authors may obtain waiver from page charges. Page charges do not regard invited editorial reviews.
Arrangement of the manuscript
1. Title page should carry (1) title of the paper (concise, but informative), (2) surname(s) and names of the author(s), (3) name(s) of the laboratory where the work was carried out, (4) running title of not more than 40 letters including spaces, (5) dedication (if any) or acknowledgment(s) of the financial support, as a footnote, (6) list of abbreviations (if any).
2. Abstract. Each paper should be preceded by an abstract of not more than 20 lines. The abstract should be intelligible by itself without reading the paper. It should be followed by specific key words (no more than six).
3. Introduction should be brief and should state the purpose of the paper in relation to other works in the same field. The introduction should not present an extensive review of literature.
4. Materials and Methods. The sufficient information should be provided to permit repetition of the experiments. The methods should be described only if new or significantly modified procedures are used. Otherwise only references to the previously described methods should be given.
5. Results should be presented concisely, possibly in a form of Tables and Figures which should not be described in detail in the text. Each experiment should be illustrated only once, either by a Table or by a Figure.
6. Discussion should present the interpretation of results, not their recapitulation. Some results do not need discussion. It may be often convenient to combine results and discussion in one section.
7. Acknowledgments (if any) should be placed directly after the discussion and included dedication (if any), thanks for financial support etc.
8. References. The list of references should include only those publications which are mentioned in the text. They must be listed alphabetically and consecutively numbered, the numbers appear in the text above the line (superscript). The references must be arranged as follows:
a) for periodicals: names and initials of authors, year of publication, full title of the cited paper, abbreviated title of the journal (according to Chemical Abstracts or Biological Abstracts), volume, first and last pages of the cited paper.
b) for books: names and initials of authors, year of publication, the title of the book, the name and domicile of the publisher, first and last pages of the cited item;
c) for multi-author books and symposia: names and initials of authors, year of publication, the tile of the quoted section, the name(s) and initials of editor(s), the title of the book, the name and domicile of the publisher, volume, first and last pages of the quoted section.

9. Tables should be typed on separate pages and numbered with arabic numerals. They should be self-explanatory, without reference to the text.
10. Figures should be numbered with arabic numerals. Drawings and glossy prints of sharp focus are acceptable. The back of each figure should be labeled in pencil with number, author's name, the running title of the paper, and the top of the figure should be indicated. The brief but descriptive legends to figures should be typed in sequence on a separate sheet, they should make figures comprehensible without reference to the text.
