The fields covered by ANNALI Dl CHIMICA concern all aspects of analytical, environmental and cultural heritage chemistry. All manuscripts received will be submitted to two Referees, chosen by the Editorial Board, and acceptance of contributions is conditional to their being first passed by the Referees.
The contributions may be in the form of: a) full papers b) short communications, not exceeding four pages (including Tables and Figures) c) reviews of the fields covered by ANNALI Dl CHIMICA (i.e. analytical chemistry, environmental chemistry and cultural heritage chemistry). |
Instructions to Authors
SUBMISSION PROCEDURES
Authors are invited to send their contribution to Annali di Chimica by e-mail. A single file integrating text, Tables and Figures. should be sent as an attachment to soc.chim.it@agora.it
indicating 揗anuscript submitted to Annali di Chimica?in the message subject. Authors are invited to submit a single file, integrating text, tables and figures, in MS-Word .doc format. The accompanying message should contain a declaration of the submitting Author that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere and that it is not currently under a submission procedure to another Journal.
Submission
Manuscripts (see the instructions for authors, on the web) can be submitted preferentially in electronic form by e-mail attachment to the following e-mail address:
soc.chim.it@agora.

The accompanying message should contain a declaration of the submitting Author that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere and that it is not currently under a submission procedure to another Journal.
In all manuscripts, the author to whom correspondence is to be directed should be indicated, i.e. (?, and his/her e-mail address (where all communications concerning the manuscript can be sent, including the acknowledgement of the receipt) should be inserted in a footnote.
Simultaneously, in addition to the electronic submission, an envelope with:
1) two copies of the manuscript,
2) an accompanying letter of the corresponding Author with the signed declaration that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere and that it is not currently under a submission procedure to another Journal,
3) a floppy disk or a CD containing one file with the exact electronic copy of the text,
should be sent by registered mail, or first class mail, to the following address:

The Editor
Societ?Chimica Italiana

In alternative to the electronic submission, the submission can be effected by registered mail, or first class mail, to the above address in Rome, sending three copies of the manuscript, prepared with double spacing and at least 2.5 cm margins on both sides, plus a floppy disk or a CD containing one file with the exact electronic copy of the text, and a letter of the corresponding Author with the signed declaration that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere and that it is not currently under a submission procedure to another Journal.
Manuscripts
All manuscripts must be written in English. Where the Authors are non English-speaking or whenever the case arises, manuscripts will be revised free of charge.
Text
Rapid publication is aided by careful preparation of manuscripts and accompanying diagrams, as suggested below.
The manuscripts should be opened by 1) the title of the contribution, 2) the name and surname of the author(s), 3) the name and address of Institution(s) where the work was performed and 4) a brief summary of the work (not more than 200 words).
Short communications do not contain a summary.
The e-mail address of the corresponding Author should be inserted as a footnote to the first page.
Whenever possible, the text should be subdivided into: Introduction, Experimental, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, References.
Literature references should be abbreviated according to the conventions of Chemical Abstracts (Chemical Abstracts Service Source Index, published by the American Chemical Society) and numbered in the order in which they are cited in the text. Footnotes which are intended to complement the text should be marked by an asterisk.
Nomenclature and Symbols
Authors should adhere to the IUPAC rules for nomenclature of chemical compounds and symbols for chemical and physical quantities and units. Commonly used abbreviations (i.e. Me, Ph, Py, THF, TMS, GLC, etc. ... ) are accepted; when unusual, they must be clearly defined in the text. Special symbols for quantities must be defined when used.
Illustrations and formulae
ANNALI Dl CHIMICA is reproduced in photo-offset. After acceptance of the paper, the final version of the text should be typed by the Authors on white A4 sheets following a page format according to the specimen available on this site of the Journal, and Figures and Tables inserted in the appropriate positions on the text.
Therefore it is advisable to prepare figures in dimensions not exceeding 14x14 cm. Care should be taken so that the lettering and numbering will remain readable after the size reduction which is applied during the off-set print of the Journal pages (the pages, tables and drawings provided by the Authors will be reduced to 70 % of their linear size).
The same is suggested for complex organic formulae and schemes: in the printed originals the formulae rings should not exceed a diagonal of 10-15 mm, the height of symbols of elements 4 mm.
Publication and reprint costs
Annali di Chimica is free of page-charge.
For ordering printed reprints, an order form containing price quotations will be sent to the authors, together with the form for the Annual Subject Index Entries.
Galley Proofs
The publication and printing procedure does not include sending galley proofs to the authors.
Rules for preparing the final camera-ready manuscripts
After a manuscript has been accepted for publication, Authors are invited to prepare a camera-ready version from which ANNALI DI CHIMICA will be printed in off-set, and receive the Reprint Order Form containing price quotations, together with the form for the Annual Subject Index Entries.
All the rules, a sample text, and all informations for preparing the camera-ready textare available and downloadable from this site.
One hard-copy of the final camera-ready version of the accepted manuscript, and an electronic version of the paper (reproducing exactly the hard copy version) has to be forwarded to the Editorial Office in Torino, together with the reprint order form and the Annual Subject Index form provided
Annali di Chimica, Dipartimento di Chimica Analitica
University of Torino
Via P. Giuria 5, 10125 Torino, Italy
Such electronic version must be in the form of a single file on a floppy disk or on a CD, depending on the size. Figures, Illustrations, Tables, and so on, must be integrated within the text in the single file provided. Separate graphic files, or Tables cannot be accepted.
