The Editorial Process When you submit your paper, please indicate which member of the Editorial Board should handle your paper. You will be notified of the editor' s decision. When the paper is accepted, submit the final version electronically and also send a printed copy to the Editorial Office (to ensure that the electronic version is correct). Format of Manuscripts The general format of a paper should be that of papers recently published by AU. The Mailbox contains short communications of interest to specialists in these areas.
Article Title Please do not include equations in the title of your paper.
Abstract/Summary Manuscripts must include a self-contained abstract in English. It should not exceed 25 lines and should be of sufficient length to describe the main results of the paper. (In LaTeX documents, abstracts should be typed in the abstract environment.)
Keywords and Subject Classification Keywords and AMS subject classifications must accompany each article. (They should be typed as arguments of the corresponding commands with the amsart document class; as footnotes under standard LaTeX.)
Abbreviated Title It is necessary to indicate an abbreviated title, which will be used as a running head (no more than 50 characters including spaces). (This short title should be typed as the optional argument of the title command in the amsart document class.)
Tables and Figures These should be handled with standard LaTeX tools. Figures should be inserted with the \includegraphics command and should be in EPS format.
Long Formulas and Footnotes Display (write in separate lines) long formulas or those of height more than one and a half times a normal line of text. Avoid footnotes by incorporating them as remarks at the point of reference in the body of the text, or as a set at the end of the paper. (For multiline formulas, use the AMS multiline environments.)
References For bibliographic references, use the style and abbreviations of the Mathematical Reviews. At the end of your paper, include your permanent mailing address. (This should be typed as the argument of the address command with the amsart document class.)
Corrections The cost of changes made to the paper during the proofing phase may be billed to the author.
