It carries research articles in the field of pure and applied algebra. Papers from related areas which have applications to algebra are also considered for publication. The aim of this journal is to introduce the latest developments of algebra and to promote international academic exchanges. Contributions from mathematicians all over the world are welcome.
Instructions to Authors
Preparation of your paper
Instructions should be read carefully before preparing the manuscript.
Manuscripts can be submitted in triplicate to any member of the editorial board who will be responsible for the paper submitted to him or her. Papers should be written in English. Editorial review will proceed more rapidly if 3 copies are sent. To facilitate communication between the authors, editors and publisher, the author should furnish a fax number or e-mail address on the title page of the manuscript. Manuscripts are accepted for review with the understanding that the same work has not been published and will not be submitted for publication elsewhere. By submitting a manuscript, the author(s) should agree that the copyright for the paper is automatically transferred to the publisher, if and when it is accepted for publication. All papers will be refereed. If necessary, the author(s) would be asked to revise the manuscript according to the referee抯 suggestions. The Editorial Board reserves the right to make reasonable modifications in wording. Manuscripts will not be returned to the authors.
Papers submitted to Algebra Colloquium should be written in an elegant and clear style. Prospective authors not expert in the language used in their papers are urged to seek proper assistance in this matter before submitting papers. If the language used in a submitted manuscript is poor, the manuscript will be immediately sent back to the author. All accepted papers should also be prepared in AMS-TeX or LaTeX. Manuscripts should be typed clearly, double-spaced on one side of A4 white paper, and accompanied by (1) an abstract not exceeding 600 characters, (2) 3 to 5 keywords, (3) 1991 Mathematics Subject Classification, and (4) an abbreviated title not exceeding 40 characters for running head. In case of a joint paper, please point out the name and address of the author of contact.
Authors are requested to choose mathematical symbols as simply as possible, and place superscripts and subscripts accurately so that they will not be misunderstood. Distinction should be made between easily confused characters.
Illustrations and diagrams should be submitted on separate sheets and not included in the text. They should be of good quality and drawn in India ink using clean uniform lines. Computer-drawn figures are acceptable provided they are of comparable quality. Lines and curves must be smooth. Letters 2mm high are recommended. Illustrations and diagrams may be reduced where necessary. The author should indicate in the margin of the manuscript where illustrations and diagrams are to be inserted.
Footnotes, other than those referring to the title of the paper, should be avoided. If absolutely necessary, they should be numbered consecutively and placed at the foot of the page on which they occur (not at the end of the article).
The list of references at the end of the paper should always be in alphabetical order, numbered consecutively and include the names and initials of all authors, or editors, year of publication, and name and location of the publisher (see examples below). Names of journals and book series should be abbreviated in accordance with Zentralblatt f黵 Mathematik. Whenever possible, please replace all references to papers accepted for publication, preprints or technical reports by the exact name of the journal, as well as the volume, first and last page numbers and year, if the article has already been published or accepted for publication.
Citations in the text should be by numbers in square brackets, for example [1], or Freed and Melrose [1], referring to an alphabetically ordered and numbered list.
In the list of references, the following examples should be observed:
Journal article: [1] D.S. Freed, R.B. Melrose, A mode k index theorem, Invent. Math. 107 (1992) 283-299.

J.M. Bony et al., Springer-Verlag, 1991, pp. 237-332.
Fifty (50) offprints of each paper will be supplied free of charge. Additional offprints are available in lots of 100, provided the order form is received with the corrected proofs.
