Manuscripts are to be submitted with the understanding that they are original contributions and are not being reviewed simultaneously for publication elsewhere.
Health Communications Inc. will acknowledge receipt of all manuscripts. After editorial review, acceptable articles will become the sole property of the publishers and as a rule will be printed within four to ten weeks of acceptance. |
| Manuscript Preparation: Submit an original, clean manuscript, typed on one side only, on white bond paper, and two photocopies; use ample margins; double-space throughout; pagination in right-hand corner, beginning with the title page; a running head should be provided. If possible, supply floppy disk with one original file (specify software version) and another in ASCII format.
Title: Should be informative and concise. Title page should include names of all authors and their respective affiliations. The individual to whom correspondence and reprint requests will be addressed must be clearly indicated, along with a mailing address and telephone number.
Abstract: Should be limited to 250 words and focus as much as possible on original procedures, findings, and conclusions. Three to 10 keywords should be provided to facilitate indexing and should be drawn if possible from the Medical Subject Headings list (MESH) of Index Medicus.
Text: Although formats of texts will vary according to the nature of the presentation, papers reporting results of studies should contain, if appropriate, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion sections. Subtitles may be added as necessary to clarify content and organization.
Tables: Should use Arabic numerals and be submitted on separate pages in the order in which they are cited in the text. Titles are to be brief and any explanatory matter?/FONT>including clarification of nonstandard abbreviations?/FONT>presented as footnotes. |
Figures: Should use Arabic numerals and be submitted on separate pages in the order in which they are cited in the text. They must be submitted in duplicate as sharp, glossy black-and-white prints that will be legible when reduced. Legends for figures should be typed on a separate page. Each figure must be clearly marked on the back upper right-hand corner for orientation. Figures may be sent as electronic format; specific details supplied upon request.

References: References, including those supporting tables and figures, should be numbered consecutively as they first appear in the text. Their accuracy is the author's responsibility. If up to six authors are listed, all should be cited; when more than six authors are given, the names of the first three authors should be listed, followed by et al.
