About the journal
Journal of Marine Science and Engineering (ISSN 2077-1312) is an international peer-reviewed open access journal of marine science and engineering published monthly online by MDPI. The Australia New Zealand Marine Biotechnology Society (ANZMBS) is affiliated with JMSE and their members receive a discount on the article processing charges.
- Open Access—free for readers, with article processing charges (APC) paid by authors or their institutions.
- High Visibility: Indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded in Web of Science, in Inspec (IET) and in Scopus.
- CiteScore (2019 Scopus data): 1.8, which equals rank 43/91 in 'Ocean Engineering', rank 165/310 in 'Civil and Structural Engineering' and rank 117/217 in 'Water Science and Technology'.
- Rapid Publication: manuscripts are peer-reviewed and a first decision provided to authors approximately 15.1 days after submission; acceptance to publication is undertaken in 2.9 days (median values for papers published in this journal in the first half of 2020).

Aims
Journal of Marine Science and Engineering (ISSN 2077-1312) is an international, peer-reviewed open access journal which provides an advanced forum for studies related to marine science and engineering. It publishes reviews, research papers and communications. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. There is no restriction on the length of the papers. The full experimental details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced. Electronic files and software regarding the full details of the calculation or experimental procedure, if unable to be published in a normal way, can be deposited as supplementary electronic material.
