About the journal

ISSN 1470-9589, eISSN 2300-0929
Only few journals deal with textile research at an international and global level complying with the highest standards.
Autex Research Journal has the aim to play a leading role in distributing scientific and technological research results publishing original and innovative papers after peer reviewing, guaranteeing quality and excellence.
Everybody dedicated to textiles and textile related materials is invited to submit papers and to contribute to a positive and appealing image of this Journal. In the end it is all about excellence!
Prof. Dr. Paul Kiekens, Dr. h. c. Gent, Belgium
The overall importance of scientific research is evident. All the objects, real and virtual, are made as result of research activities. Highly profitable and flourishing industrial sectors are those where the research efforts and investments were the strongest. The situation in the Textile - Retail complex is different. Research activities supposed to bring higher added value to textile based objects and products are not satisfying. Despite of efforts, the number of high quality scientific articles is not significant all over the world and particularly in Europe, comparing to the number of jobs and the annual turnover of our industry. This situation should change. The promotion of research activities in the Textile - Retail complex will be my main objective for the period 2007 - 2010.
The principal goal of AUTEX RESEARCH JOURNAL (ARJ) is to enhance the scientific knowledge base for the development and viability of European and World Textile - Retail industry.
The AUTEX RESEARCH JOURNAL scientific excellence, together with the relevance to industry or to AUTEX goals, should be achieved by the strong selectivity via the reviewing process. Reviewers are drawn from AUTEX and other compatible Universities, and also from industry. The number of proposals submitted for reviewing process has to increase. This may be realized by better promotion and dissemination of the journal worldwide. Special issues will also been edited based on different conference papers. The purpose of the special issues is to recognize the leadership of special editors and the quality research of the authors as well as their contributions to particular areas. In addition, it is also believed that such practice can provide the flexibility and opportunity for cross-disciplinary exchange and cooperation frontier research.
I would also like to thank people involved in publishing of the ARJ started in 1999, on the web site at Leeds University. In 2002 colleagues at the Technical University of Lodz took over the responsibility for publishing the journal. I would also like to invite all the AUTEX members to make additional efforts in order to improve the quality and the impact of our Journal.
Professor Vladan Koncar, ENSAIT, Roubaix, France President of AUTEX

The AUTEX RESEARCH JOURNAL (AutexRJ) is a quarterly journal devoted to the publication of theoretical and empirical scientific research work in all areas of textile science, technology, economics and indus trial policy.
The access to the AutexRJ is free of charge and open to everyone.
The AutexRJ is a full electronic journal but on request the editor can deliver a hard copy of the journal, with the total cost bourn by the person giving the order.
Contributions are expected to be original works which have not been previously published and are not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. Papers published in the journal will normally be reporting original research results obtained by the authors, but review papers of a high standard will also be accepted.
Papers which will be, or which have been submitted for scientific conferences, may be published in the AutexRJ under the condition that the paper under consideration has not been printed or will not be printed in any journal or other official publication with the exclusion of conference proceedings. In these cases, where the paper has been or will be presented at a conference, an appropriate statement note should be included in the paper
If a paper is accepted for publication the author will be required to sign a copyright declaration. The declaration form should be downloaded from here. The paper cannot be published until the authors have returned this declaration by e-mail or fax with an original signature. The authors will be contacted for this purpose, once the review procedure is complete. All submissions are double-blind refereed by two well-known scientists and experts in the subject area of the paper. Referees comments will be communicated to authors, with suggested and required revisions. Upon revisions, papers should be re-submitted in the modified form, in the same manner as the original submission.
