About the journal

The Journal of Engineering for the Maritime Environment provides a forum for engineers from a variety of disciplines with a common interest in the design, production and operation of engineering artefacts for the maritime environment.
The unique attributes of Journal of Engineering for the Maritime Environment are:
It straddles the traditional boundaries of naval architecture, marine engineering, offshore/ocean engineering, coastal engineering and port engineering.
Advances in new techniques involving cross-disciplinary issues are encouraged.
Focus is on the technology and underpinning sciences that enable better exploitation of the maritime environment.
The journal addresses the engineering artefact as a system in itself and as a component or facilitator of a larger goal, i.e. the cargo transport chain, the fisheries chain, oil and mineral wealth exploitation chain. It focusses on scientific and mathematical principles underpinning the design, fabrication, operation and disposal of engineering artefacts relevant in a maritime context.
The articles deal with the interpretation, understanding and modelling of physical and other phenomena involved in the interaction of solid objects with a fluid environment. Individual articles should reflect the interdisciplinary nature and approach of the journal.
